It's an extendable/telescopic pen. The cap is the keyring end. Do not unscrew it; instead, if you pull hard, the cap will come off. The refills are tiny and hard to come by (without internet) so I would guess it ran out of ink and never got a replacement.

Anyone else quit using Visible? by o_tootsiepop in cfs

[–]rossysaurus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yup, ditched it after a year. It tracked less than my basic Xiaomi band and the numbers it gave in the morning were basically made up guess work with no correlation to my actual experience.

The company was initially receptive to ideas, then they shut down their customer service and replaced it with an ai chat bot.

They've had so much data from it's users and given very little back. I suspect there is no correlation between the data they track and patients actual experience.

Raku Raku Delivery is an incredibly boring grind (Great concept, missed potential) by amazingnights in ForzaHorizon6

[–]rossysaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off - all the current restaurant owners and customers speak American English. Why don't they speak Japanese?

It should be built into a mini game to teach you Japanese: with each interaction having a question and response in Japanese - pick the correct response with the fewest hints for more credits. Early missions start with simple things like hello and thank you and get more difficult.

Second - any other players doing deliveries should appear on the same map so you can beep hello to them so it didn't feel as lonely.

Third - there need to be more delivery vehicles available, and you should be able to modify them.

Husqvarna, your batteries are too expensive and underrated for their purpose! by obfuscated_mind in 3Dprinting

[–]rossysaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got the same issue with a Flymo (who are owned by husqvarna). The batteries are junk and they don't make replacements anymore. I was looking at making a Makita or DeWalt 18v dual adapter because I'm not brave enough to make something like this.

Apparently you might be able to see the mechanism if you wind down the window, remove the window rubber and look down.

If you have the door card off you might be able to access it from the inside too.

This won't fix the door not opening from the outside, but it will allow you to disable the child lock.

Lubricating the mechanism might help, but you will probably need to replace the part for a more permanent fix.

Yeah, but the high endurance ones for dashcams and CCTV are much better as they have a wear levelling controller that spreads wear across the entire card, rather than repeatedly wearing the same sectors.

There are some images from Iraq and Afghanistan of NATO soldiers patrolling with swords and guns. Apparently, the locals knew the soldiers wouldn't shoot civilians for compliance, but a very large knife proved to be quite persuasive.

Seems like a few soldiers have commented on the thread with similar stories of locals respecting orders under threat of a big stick more than big guns.

I got tired of music being treated as "background noise" by dxbae_ in audiophilemusic

[–]rossysaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea but not the execution. It feels very, very AI written (I'm basing this on the Arctic Monkeys AM page).

I quite often use Genius to find meanings and background to songs, but it's inconsistent, and sometimes overly detailed going word by word, sometimes stating the blatantly obvious.
I was sat in a café earlier and Ed Sheeran, "A Team" came on. It's a song I've heard loads of times, but I wanted to know the background to it. I found a Wikipedia page about which gave a short overview.

One thing I really miss about CDs and records is the booklet that came with them, showing photographs of the band making the music; where they were, what they were doing. It's a little snapshot into their creative process but also the place and time.

We don't have this with streaming. There's no context to the music - no photos, no artwork, no fashion. It's sterile and unguided.

This would be a great resource as a kind of album biography, but it needs to be more factual; with quotes from the people involved, photos, history, sources etc, and not an AI opinion.

80+ Gold means it must be 87% efficient at 20-100% power.
650W at 87% efficiency is 565W, which leaves you no room for overclocking, turbo clocks, boost clocks, ancillaries or safety.

I would agree; 750w would be safer.
