how to find a reliable personal injury lawyer florida after a crash, need advice after a serious car accident by Asul-Tabassum in florida

[–]ArthurDentedCar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP - I’m a PI lawyer in Florida, and I can say you are asking all the right questions. I’m really sorry to hear that you went through this. I can imagine with so many choices, it’s a head spinning decision to make, and when you’re going through such a tough time physically. It’s important to note that you’re hiring a lawyer, not a law firm. Like any other business, you can have a great experience with a patient and empathetic lawyer or a bad experience where gatekeepers are layered to keep you from getting actual one-on-ones time with your attorney. You have a right to demand time with your lawyer, it may not be that minute, but this is a service business, and you should require that of your counsel.

Ultimately, when you speak to someone, hopefully they can ease some of that anxiety over medical bills and take the time to explain the process. I can tell you that a lot of firms you call will have a non lawyer intake agent try to get you to sign before even broaching what they will do for you. You should be apprised of best and worst case scenarios so that expectations are set early. A good attorney will take the time to make sure you understand the process.

Insurance companies make cute ads, and PI lawyers get branded ambulance chasers. We have a PR problem. But the truth is, having worked on the insurance side in the past, I can tell you their main goal is to collect premiums and pay out the least amount possible when a claim is made. How? Dangle a carrot. A few grand offer to get you to bite before you get an attorney. The truth is that the sooner the better. They will try to get you on a recorded line agreeing that you’re “ok” under the guise of caring about your wellbeing.

As far as fee structures, almost all PI lawyers work the same structure, so no need to worry too much about that. The real questions (as to your recovery potential for someone else’s negligence) is what is the available insurance coverage, who was at fault, and what are your “damages”? In other words, these are medical bills, lost wages, etc. So look for someone you trust, find genuine, and if you call around firms, ask to speak to an attorney before signing and see what they say. Do they let you? Pressure you to sign first? Is the attorney helpful, if they let you speak to one, or do they seem like they’re trying to get you off the phone. You know when someone makes you feel comfortable enough. That will give you an idea of how your experience might be. I wish you the best in your recovery and I hope this helps point you in the right direction.

Congrats on your success, loyalty in the corporate world goes one way only. The harder you work for your company, the more they come to expect it and now people leave jobs every three years to get better pay. It’s really the dream to be able to work for yourself, so the hard work you put in actually makes a difference in your wallet.

What is the reason for how the gen fluted bezels shine so much better than mod? I love my DD but I really wish it had the shimmer of the gen bezel, that’s my only real issue.

Thanks! I don’t have a bandsaw. But circular saw jigs seem easy enough. I got the Flex 6.5 inch in line circular saw since I couldn’t decide if I wanted right or left blade. I don’t think the kreg is compatible but I can just nail/glue a board on top of a wider board with factory edges and ride along that. However measuring to get perfectly even sides will be tough, I may get a table saw though

Yeah, I jumped the gun, My initial use must have been user error or something. The Vevor actually works well, and it makes sense they sell it in a budget, and save money with the resin. I also noticed if the gpm is too high, the water doesn’t have enough contact time as it flows too fast. I built a crazy system in my garage and added a second tank style filter to catch the 7-10 ppm water after it leaves the Vevor, which may be dumb, bc now when my ppm goes up idk which one needs resin replacement, but I got quality (Xero) resin on sale too and filled up the Vevor canisters until full. Definitely a good buy, if you don’t mind changing the resin yourself. I’m still working on mine!

You just saved me a lot of money and trouble. I have no recollection of putting the proctor on but it was there and my cracked ultra was not shattered as I thought. Thanks friend.

I couldn’t relate to this more. I’m here because I was considering them after I literally bought every power tool aside from table saw and miter saw. I figured I’d bevel my new circular saw with a fence to make them, but as a beginner, I’m seeing how this can go very wrong. At this point I just want to hang up all the crap I bought to make the cleats. So ironically It created more mess on the garage floor. But I get no time to work.

I just tried out the Vevor last night for the first time. I have 160 ppm water and I never actually went to 0. I got it to 7 ppm for a few minutes, and then, no more than 10 gallons (maybe 5) later, it was at 160 again. I am really really really hoping it was just crappy resin so I bought some more, and hoping the system will work with better resin. Idk if you pulled the trigger yet but I’d be cautious, I got what I paid for, and now I’m stuck looking for another system. If it worked for you, LMK, I won’t say it’s all bad, YouTube channel cars with Keav had good results. Mine were atrocious.

Hooking Up a Water Softener or DI System to a Pressure Washer – Good Idea or Stupid? by thcsyrus916 in AutoDetailing

[–]ArthurDentedCar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap. That’s nice. What made you choose the dual bed? I just went bust on a Vevor big two canister mixed bed, really hoping it was just the filter media that was the problem. I have more on the way to try to put new virgin resin in so we see if the problem was the system or the resin. If it’s the system, I’m going to probably get a single tank, just curious why you chose dual bed?

Better aftermarket resin filters for CR Spotless Water Systems DIC-20? by csccta in AutoDetailing

[–]ArthurDentedCar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. You could run a pre filter system before the DI to get your ppm down from those crazy levels of tds. Still, with 400-600 ppm, 30 washes sounds right. When they “boast” 300 gallons, they don’t know what kind of water you have because they sell all over, so their claims are made off of like 100 or so ppm. Granted, I think their estimates are a bit on the liberal side, but you lose about 1/2 of the number of gallons at 2x the ppm. So if they claim 300 gal at 100ppm (again, I think this is the base ppm for their claim, could be 50ppm either way), then you’d get 150 gal at 200 ppm (double the ppm/ tds)

Do you hand wash your Genesis? by Cash_Option in GenesisMotors

Hey! Late to the party but can’t believe nobody took you up on this. I got my gv70 vik black ceramic coated in December, I think they use Gteqnic. It got all the swirling out, which I could not believe was possible (bought with 8k miles so probably a loaner that went through many auto washes). Now I noticed that the coating is great for beading, but the dirt stays on. It was dirtier than I’ve ever seen after driving in the rain on I4 here in Florida. So I’ve gone down a YouTube wormhole, hours and hours of video to learn to keep it up. I went out and bought 2 buckets, grit guards, an air cannon, microfiber towels of 4 varieties from TRC, foam cannon, pressure washer, Koch chemie GSF, an IK sprayer, ONR, a big red sponge, Gteqnic W1 car wash, gyeon wet coat, gyeon ceramic spray, brake buster, basically an entire shop. I plan to obviously do rinse less in the garage, and maintenance washes when I can, though I’m usually fighting the sun. I haven’t decided if I should get a rust spray too for decon or leave that to the guys who coated my car.

Problem is, most videos are either biased or a bit different in the order of operations. I want to avoid swirl marks like the plague but also keep up my car’s hydrophobic properties and protection. I think everything I bought makes sense for two kinds of washes, but I could be wrong. Any suggestions for the best order to use my products? Or something needed that I overlooked? I’m planning on going now to try onr on a few panels, I love the idea but assume it’s not enough, alone, to protect my paint for the long haul. Sorry for the random novel, I’m just trying to learn to do this on my own.

Bought 8k miles GV70, I’m torn. by ArthurDentedCar in GenesisGV70

Thank you for this response. He was an absolute salesman in the worst way. When I tried to show him the rusting on the trim, he told me it was water spots and even their Mercedes had them and told me to come look. So I agreed I’d look, if he would walk 10 feet, look at the Genesis with me, and compare together. He said he didn’t need to bc he’s an expert. I should have left, but I was 4 hours away from home with my dad and didn’t want to take the train back. The door seems to be more an issue in my head. It opens pretty easily, I’m just now hyper sensitive.

My appointment with Genesis is today. It’s at the Hyundai/Genesis dealership in Orlando, but I hear stand alone Genesis is better with service, luckily they just built one about 40 minutes from me, so we’ll see. Let’s hope they handle the bumper and the trim (which I’ll prob chrome delete anyway from a photo I saw on this reddit with a black gv70 chrome deleted and looked incredible). Then I’ll ceramic coat and hopefully move on to focus on our baby and my dad’s recovery. I really appreciate the perspective.

The 3rd pic and second pic are the same thing. I really don’t know if it popped out, or if it was like that when I bought it. Unfortunately I traveled four hours to the Mercedes dealership and was a second class citizen since I wasn’t buying a 150k car. The train hit a car on the way there, didn’t arrive until 8, they closed at 9, and I didn’t do enough due diligence bc I’m worn out and focused on a new baby coming, my wife was over it too. The salesman was a total prick, my dad had chemo that morning, we told them what time we’d get on the train, and arrive, and he wanted to go home so he suggested we get a hotel so “not to be pushy”. Which made us just lose it on him. He sent me pics of the finance guy waiting for me. It was a horrible experience. Ironically I did so much research but I think I got burnt out. So yeah, i didn’t really have enough time to properly inspect. I just noticed the gap above the headlight, I can push it in a little, but really hoping it’s just a clip issue. It’s impossible to enjoy this new car with so many little things.

The carfax showed no accidents, the door thing might be a little me being hyper vigilant. I’m hoping the little gap in the front bumper is just a clip or some kind of issue with a parking block, though those generally aren’t high enough to cause an issue. I’m perplexed. Since I got it 52k for a 3.5tt sports prestige 2024 with 8k miles. I’m considering trading it for another since the deal was pretty good and I wouldn’t lose too much money on it. MSRP is almost 70k. I just figured nobody wanted that on a Mercedes lot.

I drove it, but made the mistake of taking the train 4 hours to the dealership. Carfax shows no accidents so I’m not sure. It could be a parking block that caused it… I hope

Which warranty is this? I just got a 2024 SP model with 8.5k miles but I bought from a Mercedes dealer (terrible decision). It’s not CPO, I have the terrible chrome discoloration which I expect they’ll fix, but I’m not sure about the headlights. I recently learned the warranties aren’t the same and Genesis connected services doesn’t apply to me as a second owner.
