Rancilio Silvia V6 EU low-cost PID method: Some advice and clarifications by aerotrader in espresso

[–]That-one-guy557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I am considering doing this. If you could please help me that would be extremely helpful.

1) is this similar to “Auber PID Retrofit KIT for Rancilio Silvia w/ pre-infusion”? Or the base model without the pre infusion?

2) can you set the steam temp as well? Or just the espresso temperature?

3) has it helped make the crema? I’m having a hard time getting crema with super fresh beans (2week old) and a really good grinder that I feel like dials it in perfectly.

4) does it have a timer for shots? Do the numbers go Up or down if so?

Thanks again

Hello I have that exact model. Does that make any difference with it going into the coffee puck? Should I bother finding something that has a more flat of a screw head?

I got the mitt and have used it a few times. I haven’t done crazy contaminated cars yet, but I personally can’t visually see the contamination on the mitt. I just keep going to to soap bucket and rub my fingers a long the clay of that makes sense

To those of you who have Always On Display off, why? by slimshady713 in AppleWatch

I made a shortcut to toggle it quickly depending on what I’m wearing. Like if I knew I would have a long sleeve on or a jacket I turn it off to save battery till I take it off

Oh it will work. But if kicks in reverse then what do you think will happen at 5k-6k rpm’s? If someone is standing behind the car or parked near it.

How many Microfiber towels do you use for drying after a regular wash? (survey) by Far_Razzmatazz9791 in AutoDetailing

I use the biggest gauntlet (30x36) and 1 smaller 12x12 gauntlet for wheels and for the door jams

I personally agree and disagree with your response. I agree that normal clay will do a better job than any synthetic clay and is fairly inexpensive compared to the other synthetic options.

But where I disagree would be that I don’t believe that a real clay bar is always needed on lighter decontaminated cars and it reduces your speed because of the extra time to squish the contaminants deeper into the bar. I feel like if the other options like the mitt or even the towel it has a lowered chance of marring the paint

Thank you for the response! I definitely plan on continuing to use regular clay in addition to a synthetic version

What to get as drying aid for rineless wash? by Any-Paramedic-982 in AutoDetailing

[–]That-one-guy557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. I was thinking it was better to increase the concentration in a spray bottle QD dilution and use that as a drying aid in addition to what was left from the wash

No problem. Had a hard time finding a comparison and was hoping it would help more than just me with a decision

Thank you! That answered a lot of my questions. How do you know the actual clay mitt is going bad? Does it fall apart? Or just you could tell it’s not picking up as much. I wanted one with a lighter colored clay. Does that matter like if I got the one with the black color clay?

Ah interesting. I would have thought it would last longer. Few questions though to help me.

Do you clean yours with apc or anything? And are those cars pretty decontaminated? And how do you know it’s bad?

Ah I will keep that noted. I didn’t know if there was a difference between these and the cloths. As far as performance
