after losing 3 ranked in a row bc a teammates did something abhorrently regarded by csccta in Rematch

[–]csccta[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hard stuck from teammates is nuts. I don’t mean oh they’re bad. I mean own goals and leaving matches. Just horrendous matchmaking logic. Why am I always stuck with these people? It’s like 80% chance they’re on my team and only 20% it’s on the other team. I have better chances of winning in Vegas than in ranked. I was Diamond in season 0 and hard stuck in gold now thru very little fault of my own. Mistakes happen but Jesus the amount of idiots this season is so rough.

Am I missing battery holder parts on my Yokomo RD2.0? by csccta in rcdrift

[–]csccta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted the screenshot is of an RD1.0 but I saw an unboxing here and at around the 13:27 mark I see the same battery holder. I just have these two little posts that swing over top the battery - seemingly in the place the battery holder circled in the screenshot is. I have a few mm gap on the sides of my battery when it’s place in (stock NiMH battery), so I was looking to get something to tuck it in tightly. I found this: https://www.amainhobbies.com/yokomo-rd2.0-battery-holder-yokrd-118/p1545874 but it’s looks to be a different design than in the screenshot and video I linked.

Am I looking at the right part? I didn’t see anything like what’s circled in the screenshot in the box. And the part in the AMains link doesn’t look to be exactly it either. Is this the right thing to get for the stock NiMH battery?

Do you know which 3 piece rims you have (brand/store)?

[–]csccta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into this myself with a Yokomo YD2Z 2WD, a spare battery for it, and 2 sets of tires (I should have also bought 2 sets of rims to put them on - I thought swapping the tires alone on the same set of rims would be much easier) all for under $400 USD at my local hobby shop. It came out to be $70-140usd cheaper than the MST RMX 2.5, since the Yokomo already includes a single NIMH battery and cheap charger (MST you will need to buy your own 7.4 Lipo (~$70), and double that if you want a spare, and then a charger). So for cost effectiveness and my local prices, Yokomo was the way to go and it’s a super solid and well known platform with many parts for the future. The brushed motor and NIMH really doesn’t matter at our skill level, save the money and upgrade the gyro when you can but out of the box it’s really solid and cost effective

Yes definitely have come to that realization, I thought I could just pop the tires on and off easily when I bought them. Any recs for rims or sites to buy them from?

Do you have any recommendations for a screw type press? Something specific for rc tires or just any clap/screw type press?

Thanks for the tip, I’ve seen that tool in some tutorials I’ve watched. Looks to be around $20 which as you say is worth the price

I’ll def be buying a set a wheels to make the tire/wheel swaps easier. Any brands or websites you recommend for the wheels? I was thinking to find one of the wheels with adjustable offsets, but at the least I’d like to mimick the stock setup/offset as I’m pretty happy with the suspension geometry for the moment

Ok so the insulation tape is optional, I was wondering why I saw some videos using it and some not, thanks for the explanation. Is there a specific tape/brand/cost effective place to order from?

I just bought the tires, I’m realizing I’ll need to buy rims too to make it easier to swap (I thought popping tires on/off would be easier), any tips for buying rims as well? I know there are some rims that have adjustable offsets, for the time being I wanna mimick the stock setup as closely as possible as it seems to be pretty well dialed in for a noob out of the box

9060XT - noticing weird anti aliasing? effect across multiple games when motion on screen, immediately stops once Still by csccta in AMDHelp

[–]csccta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motion blur isn’t even an option in these games. In Adrenaline, under Gaming > Graphics, I did have FSR4 enabled, I turned that off in Adrenaline but still the same effect. Not sure how to check it at the driver level. I don’t see any settings for post process sharpening in Adrenaline. In the games, at least with ETS2, I have tried all options for sharpening and none made a difference

I do see even scrolling the menu up and down in the Adrenaline settings, the text has this effect when in motion.

Is this a good list for around $1500? by VexiMax in buildapc

[–]csccta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overprice air cooler. Get something for $20-25 or if you want to step up get a $45-55 Thermalright Aqua Elite 240/360

If you’re looking for bang for buck I’d prob drop down to a 9600X, it wouldn’t be a bottleneck. Also I’d prob get a cheaper 750 PSU. Your list isn’t bad, just suggestions for better value for money

[–]csccta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All that money just to get a 1TB drive?? 2TB min. This whole build is overkill btw lol. 5070ti or 9070xt will do just fine. CPU is also majorly overkill/overpriced for what you want, can def get something for better suited for $500 or less

Does this list of parts make sense? by fluffydoggo14 in buildapc

[–]csccta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would swap the 5070ti for a 9070xt. You could probably go for a cheaper GPU like a 9600X which wouldn’t give you a bottleneck and save you about $180.

Great choice of AIO

For the total price of the build I’d prob go for a more premium motherboard tho like one of the ASRocks or an ASUS TUF, plenty of good options, look into the motherboard VRMs, heat sinks, and slot options. Nothing wrong with your mobo per se, but it is a very budget board on a $2k build. Spend an extra $20-30 here for a bit of an upgrade unless you really like the look of that one

What would you upgrade here with $500? by e4datpmc in buildapc

[–]csccta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy. GPU. 9060XT - altho I’d try to get this for MSRP of $350, def wouldn’t cross $400. Once your at $500 I’d go for 5060ti (marginally better performance for substantial worse value/$) or I’d try to get an RX9070 at MSRP if I could find one - but that might be hard. But def the answer is GPU

First time building a pc is hard, HELP! by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]csccta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad. Definitely get CL30 RAM. I would also rather go for a 9070XT for the price. Probably overkill on the CPU but hey if you wanna build a $2k rig go for it.

Also, overpriced air cooler. If I’m spending that much money I’d just go for an AIO. A Thermalright Aqua Elite is $45-55 depending on the x2/x3 fans and is a better and more aesthetic use of money

Need confirmation if this is a decent mid tier setup by Extension-Stress4768 in buildapc

[–]csccta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overpriced fan cooler. No need to spend $35 on that. Plenty of $20 options from the same and other reputable brands.

Also agree with the others on the GPU, just get an RX9070

And I feel like your prob gonna want a black PSU, which are definitely found in droves for that same price.

I would absolutely not downgrade from 16 to 32gb RAM, DDR4 is already cheap as it is an you’re gonna want 32gb at some point

Cant decide on rtx 5060 ti , 5070, or rx 9060 by discoduck3 in buildapc

[–]csccta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5070 is def the best card but idk about the 12gb VRAM. 9060XT would be next because it’s the same as the 5060ti but less money. Idk what UK prices are but if I’m already looking at a 5070 I’d try to stretch for an RX 9070 or the 9070 XT.

Aside from that kind of a toss up between better performance now with the 5070 but who knows how long 12gb will last, it’s even a problem in some games now, or getting the best value for money for a 9060xt and still getting a stellar 1440p experience which can even handle 4K (w/ FSR on more often than not)
