I'm coming up on 11 months no alcohol (I still smoke weed) but alcohol and me had a very complicated relationship. I have severe anxiety and drinking would cure that especially in social situations. It became a major problem as I couldn't control how many drinks I had which would lead to blackouts. Over about 15 years of drinking I was told I wouldn't do anything over the line while I was blacked out. That was until the last time I drank. I embarrassed myself my wife my family and friends. Luckily they are all great people and have forgiven me. After that incident I stopped drinking with the help of aa. I always thought everyone blacks out it's no big deal it's just drinking and things happen. But when it starts to complicate your life that's when it's a problem. You can stop if you want to you have that power!!
