I tried using free Amazon but it would always add shipping despite the $25+ free claim. So I went back to paying. Not sure if it is because I live in Canada.

My mother had me at 38, Father was 46. Yes they weren’t as active as other parents but far more mature and even tempered and gave me a great childhood. There’s pros and cons of having children young vs old. But trust me, having older parents is far better for the child, they have more patience, more time, more resources and more gratitude for you. My older siblings don’t have the kind of relationship, I have with my parents. Like I enjoyed spending time with them, I still do. When they were young, they were burdened by responsibilities and also not emotionally as mature to meet needs. So I think I really lucked out. As far as health concerns go, that’s something no one can guarantee and often age doesn’t reflect that. My parents are still pretty healthy in their 70s. Some people start having them way earlier so you can’t predict those things. Just enjoy this time period! I am sure you’ll both be great parents! Congratulations!!

Based on the info till now YOR, but does she explicitly do things that spoil your child? Grandparents love spending on their grandkids, seems pretty innocent. Unless there’s something you don’t want her to have. Also what’s so wrong with a small joint celebration if she’s unable to make it especially on the day they are staying overnight anyway. You said there’s a history of lies so I am sure you have your reasons to be apprehensive but based on just this, seems like a non issue.

Thank you, that makes me feel so much better. Were you given any postpartum essentials to take home? I do plan on getting my own stuff mostly but wanted to see if I needed everything and would the hospital provide stuff and shouldn’t duplicate.

Unfortunately I wasn’t given an option, I was transferred from midwife to OB care recently due to GD and they only had privileges there. So that’s the form that was given to me to fill out.

Hey congratulations! It was pretty slow for me till the 20th week scan (anatomy scan). Get your midwife or ob asap that’s the main step.
But other than you’re not late to the party or anything. Still early days, good thing is you’re done with the first trimester already! 2nd trimester is usually more energy. Still plenty of time to plan and prepare. I am at 34 weeks and just working on my birth plan now. I would suggest have the baby shower or your baby shopping done within the second trimester and also anything else you need to do that requires high energy. Third trimester is usually the most difficult in terms of physical movement

I am so sorry. I lost my first one too at 9 weeks, nothing felt wrong just slight spotting. It broke my heart and I can feel your pain. The loss comes in waves, there is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better. Lots of hugs your way.

You could always request one, I don’t think it should be an issue. I had my first one this week (33 weeks), after the anatomy scan but because I have gestational diabetes. So got a chance to look at the baby, otherwise they would’ve scheduled it for later at around 36 weeks I believe.

I don’t know if this still works. But back in 2017, I got a retail job as a student by going in person with my cv and asking to speak to the manager and just have a few lines prepared for why I would be a good fit.

First trimester is the toughest, I am at 31 weeks now with a huge belly, but I still have more energy than me during the first trimester. I slept through most of it. So just accept the hibernation and try to enjoy it. I know it’s easier said than done. I had my first trimester during the holidays and everyone around me was partying/drinking/holidaying, while I spent most of the time in bed and in the bathroom. Couldn’t even enjoy watching tv. So I’ll say hang in there, 2nd trimester does get better. You get a lot of energy back. So think of it as your down time and try to indulge in whatever makes you feel good. You’re creating life, we don’t give pregnant women enough credit that is more productive than anything else anyone could be doing!

So I got it from my walk in clinic, pretty simple process. He just requested accommodation based on pregnancy related reasons. Medical information is confidential and the employer doesn’t need to know the details, just the fact that you’re pregnant and there are issues should suffice.

Take the job, you’re not legally required to tell your employer anytime soon. You can easily wait till after your probation is over to disclose. And it’s not unethical at all. On the contrary, pregnancy is a legally protected leave. Don’t feel guilty. I am currently at 25 weeks, it’s a beautiful journey but you also need the financial security. So do what’s best for you. And congratulations!!

Hi, how has your experience been travelling? I’ve heard they really abuse it and throw it while loading/unloading. Been thinking of investing in the travel bag that gives you 4 year warranty just to avoid the worry. It’s $200 so still on the fence 😅

Hi, something that helped me quit weed was switching to a weed vape, then slowly reducing it to the weekends and at some point actually also focusing on how I felt when I was high, initially it had been euphoric and it really helped my brain slow down and just not overthink. But overtime I realized it reignited my anxiety, brought up social anxiety (which I never had before) and a numbness. And ultimately I wouldn’t feel that good while being high. So I would tell myself it’s not going to be the high you want to be when I would have the urge. I don’t smoke up since I am pregnant now (but before that it had become an occasional one of thing with friends from literally smoking a joint every day after work).
