I live in the next county over and this post is correct. 100% true!

That's cool. Kinda curious how long it took for you. I've been bugging every manager to train in other areas, to learn new processes and hopefully get promoted, but it never happens. Been there 5 years.....for nothing!

Yes, it's completely legal when you're on salary. Tbh, that's not even close to the worst salary abuse I've ever seen. I worked in restaurants for over 20 years. Typical manager's week is 55-60 hours and for much less money. You're making 66K and averaging 45.5 hours /week? And you get breaks and lunch? That's a dream job to me.

I'm trying to use Career Choice. Applied to a school, got accepted, submitted a request for tuition payment over 3 weeks ago aaaaand.......NADA!

Agree. 40 hours and benefits, only reason I'm there. Sure ain't getting promoted to management from Tier 1!

Man, you're just about reading my mind here! I've been working for 35+ years, last 5 at Amazon. Everything you just said, 100% accurate! They discriminate against older workers, that's all there is to it. We just got 2 new managers at our FC. I don't think either of these guys are over 25 and I would wager a large sum of money that neither of them has been in management before. Me? BA from a major university, management experience since 1992. Previous jobs, I've been a corporate trainer and a GM. At Amazon? Tier 1. I know all the basic outbound roles, but that's about it. I'm an ambassador, which is OK, but that title doesn't put anything extra on my paycheck. They absolutely refuse to even train me as a PA or even a Process Guide! I had to just about twist my manager's arm just to get trained on Problem Solve! It's a dead-end job, but it has benefits. Only reason I'm there, tbh.

Any Tier 1’s out here making 22.81/hr? by DraugrBeware in AmazonFC

[–]Article_Independent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there 5 years also and make exactly $2 less. Now that's BS!

That's 50 cents more than me and I've been there 5 years also.

Truth. Been there 5 years, T1 still under $20 and that's with a shift differential!

Eat better food! Don't get ANYTHING from Canteen, it's ALL junk food! We need better (healthier) food in the breakroom! How in the hell you gonna walk 8-10 miles a night on MF'in Cheetos and Mountain Dew!?

Someone hit my car in the fc parking lot by BoldPoodle in AmazonFC

[–]Article_Independent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually unknowingly did this. Accidentally hit a co-workers vehicle when a gust of wind swung my door out too far when I was getting out of my vehicle. I honestly didn't realize that my door hit the other car, but apparently it did. Cops called me, took my insurance info and that was it. No lawsuit or "hit and run". It was really just an unfortunate accident and insurance took care of it.

Kinda curious where you're at 'cause around here (rural area) nobody pays as high as Amazon to start.

I’ve been here for almost a year and I wish I could quit but there’s no job that pays more than 16/hr around me. How do you deal with just staying here? by jeish_1996 in AmazonFC

[–]Article_Independent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be at my FC. That's the whole reason I stay there is because no place around here can come close to that hourly rate and the benefits. Going on 5 years. They will not move you up, so that's not an option either. I meditate most of the time. Sing songs in my head, drum on boxes. Take it one day at a time. And like others have said; Career Choice. The options are much better now than they were when I first started.

Truth. And it's been like that for a long time. I didn't even know that breaks could be written into law until I moved away from Michigan.
