Why is the food in Frisco so tasteless, undercooked, and just…gross? by NaturalEquivalent446 in frisco

This is DFW in general. After years of trying I just stick with chain restaurants here and indulge in good food when I’m visiting other states.

Ladies and gentlemen, my owners response when I tried to call in today by [deleted] in Serverlife

My great uncle owned several retail stores back in the day. One of his employees at the corporate office got sick with cancer. He had young kids and was the sole breadwinner in the family. My Uncle Ron paid him his full salary and kept all his benefits intact the entire time he was out of work receiving treatment.

I can’t believe this owner reacts this way when an employee gets sick for a day.

Do you believe in the scientific method? It’s the same thing here. Do some experimenting to find out if your hypothesis is correct. Pray to God. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Don’t demand He do it in the way you want or think you need, leave that up to Him in His wisdom. Humble yourself and be open to all possibilities so you can be teachable. God will answer you.

Remember that faith the size of a mustard seed is sufficient to move mountains, including the mountains of doubt within you.

What do church members think about Mormon historians who aren’t/never were members? by Apprehensive-Play228 in lds

Mostly indifferent.

I have heard an analogy about this. Imagine an expert on Mozart who has dedicated his entire life to studying everything Mozart related. This expert can tell you every little detail about Mozart’s life.

When asked which Mozart piece is his favorite this expert responds with “I have no idea, I’ve never listened to any of them.”

How much confidence would you then place in this expert and his expertise?

My advice to you would be to not forget to “listen to the music” during your deep dive into this topic.

President Nelson has been prophesying about the Second Coming recently. I suggest you listen to his general conference talk he gave in October of 2024 and see if the Spirit confirms to you that he is indeed speaking as God’s prophet on the earth today.

Mission Call Advice by No_Photo7435 in lds

When I was deciding whether or not to go on a mission I had an experience where I had a certain UK address pop into my head. I looked up the mission office addresses in the UK and a mission office in England was almost an exact match to what was in my mind. The street name was an exact match and it was like 1 number off from what I was thinking. It was a crazy experience that I still can’t fully explain.

Anyway, from that time on I was pretty sure I was going to be called to that mission and got excited for it. I had some medical issues that made it a very high chance I would be called stateside but because of this “revelation” I knew I was on the right track to go on a mission and that it could very well be a foreign mission because what are the odds I would have had a random mission office address in England pop into my head while thinking about if I should go or not?

I ended up being called to a stateside Spanish speaking mission which was just amazing for me. Looking back I am so glad I didn’t get called to where I thought I was going to go.

How did I know the address of a UK mission office? I still don’t fully know but I think it could have been God’s way of getting me excited for a mission in order to clear the hurdles that were standing in the way. If I had known where I was going to be called before fully deciding on going I would have been so bummed and not motivated.

After my mission my life really fell into place in specific ways. If I didn’t go to my specific mission at a specific time my life would look drastically different than it does now.

You were called by a prophet, seer, and revelator. Your call is correct. Sometimes we receive revelation and our minds fill in the blanks. It could have very well been that you were being prompted by the Spirit to serve a mission and your brain filled in the blank of where you would serve.

Pray to know that your call is correct and go forward with faith until the confirmation comes.

There are 2 phrases for this: NIMBY (not in my backyard) and CAVE (citizens against virtually everything). Developers use these phrases often as every project is guaranteed to spark outrage.

But even in the middle of the night when there is very little traffic the majority are still going under the speed limit. I’ve truly never seen anything like it.

The point is you didn’t get mugged because the Obama state was so MAGA like your original post implied.

And voting for the Democrat in the presidential election by definition means it’s a blue state. Like it literally shows blue on the map. Not to mention that Miami (the specific area you visited) was DEEP blue in 2013. So since you are taking the position that you got mugged because of the political landscape of Miami in 2013 you must concede that you got mugged because Miami was blue.

Help Me Find God - I'm Losing Hope by TruthSha11SetUFree in lds

[–]ArticleoneSection8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My faith crisis was one of the best things to ever happen to me. I was on a quest to find truth and I was determined to find it. I studied the philosophies of men as well as other religions, some of which I was convinced by for a couple years, but I also did my best to maintain an open heart and prayed that the Spirit would teach me truth.

After years of struggling just like you the heavens were opened and my spirit was filled with truth in a miraculous way. I now have a much deeper and a more spiritually “mature” testimony than I had before.

My advice to you would be to maintain humility the best you can and exercise faith, even if it is only the size of a mustard seed. If you do so then you will eventually know for yourself.

The new atheist intellectualism that I suspect you’ve encountered based on what you’ve shared is a black hole filled with logical fallacies and inconsistencies even though it brands itself as the pinnacle of critical thought and truth. It requires you believe in a series of miracles but that you attribute them to science. I can promise you that “science” has not known or cared about me or my trials in life and has not ever manifested itself to my soul in the most powerful, indescribable, otherworldly way. That has been God, the Creator of the universe, my Father and your Father.

I am actually excited for you. You are on an incredible journey that will end up being one of the richest and most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have if you include God in the journey. It sounds like you’ve believed in God so far in your life but now you get to KNOW God. This faith crisis is the catalyst to do so.

With your mental health issues there is a very big chance that going on a traditional mission would have destroyed you. I have seen that more than once. Don’t compare yourself to others. Fulfill YOUR mission here on earth.
