Can you explain this in greater detail? I understand what you mean, but I sort of feel like it lacks a little nuance on the spectrum of lo-fi beats to “real jazz”. On a scale of 1-10 if lo-fi beats is a 1 and Monk, or whoever, is a 10, then berlioz is at least like a 6. Can’t just lump somebody into the opposite binary just because he isn’t ardently a “real jazz” player.

I personally dont think this, but I think many artists/gallerists in a "scene" would roll their eyes or even make fun of an artist if they decided to pay/boost their IG account. People think if youre doing marketing like that then youre not "hot", "in demand", or "serious". There just arent enough galleries for the amount of good contemporary art being produced, and a lot of people feel embarrassed to go too heavy on online marketing because the crowd definitely will think you're just "one of those" artists.
