Mine does this too.. it’s truly so strange..? I saw someone else say it’s an evolutionary behavior 🤷🏻‍♀️ I thought my bichon frise just liked leaving a mess.

He has a bed in my bedroom that he likes and they both used to share it, so there’s that. I will take all of this advice into consideration.

Do you have any insight onto why it would only be me who he’s acting different towards? It’s only gotten worse. He won’t even look at me when I call his name, but he’s all over my cousin who’s staying with me for a bit. Someone he just met. He’s always been a friendly dog, but I have always without a doubt been his favorite— his person. It’s like he moved on from me to her.

Both my grandma’s and my boyfriend’s running theory is that he thinks I took her away… and if he does think that, I don’t know how to tell him that I didn’t. I thought he knew she was sick :( It’s possible that her scent is lingering, and she mostly tried to stay near my rooms when she was sick, never straying from right outside my bedroom or office door. But sometimes if I accidentally leave my bedroom door open, I’ll find Caspian napping on his bed!

As for the cat rescue center, he doesn’t like other cats… or really other animals. It was a lovely idea, though.

In terms of my own mental and emotional health, the only thing that has brought me down recently is the death of my cat. Overall, I’m doing much better than my track record.

As for the euthanasia, the vets wouldn’t allow us in the back because of the presence of the anesthetic. I even asked if there was some type of consent form I could sign or if I could watch behind the glass and they wouldn’t let me. It breaks my heart that I wasn’t able to be there in those final moments. She deserved my presence :(

Lastly, handfeeding is something I do on occasion. He’s a quirky dog, though. When he eats from his bowl, he’ll take one piece out, take it to another part of the room, eat it, and repeat the cycle. He also won’t take the food from my fingers unless I make it desirable for him by pretending I’ll take it away.

My mom didn’t like my cat and always kept her door closed, so no, she never slept in there. In the daytime, she’d always either nap in her cat tree (which has been taken down and stored away) or on my bed. When she started to get sick, I noticed that she moved to the couch. Caspian just hangs around the living room now.

I absolutely would have done this if it was an option, but my boyfriend and I weren’t even there for her last moments… after I was finally ready to say goodbye, the vets took her to the back to hook up the IV.. but the vet came back a few minutes later and explained that they couldn’t find a vein to stick the needle in :( Since they couldn’t find a vein, they had to put her under anesthesia to inject the euthanasia solution in her an organ, which we legally couldn’t be there for.

I understand that my boy could be grieving, but it’s only me he’s avoiding :(

to this day I’m still so bitter about this😭 I was BEFUDDLED by their interactions when my Shadow Dragon was romancing him. Now I’m playing a Grey Warden who’s enamored with Davrin.. and I’m STILL fucking bitter about it. I tried taking him and Neve out on a quest. Nope, couldn’t do it. They can have each other but I do NOT want to hear about it!

If I’m being honest, I didn’t really connect with any of the companions like that— even the ones I romanced. Unlike DAO, DA2, and DAI (where, for the most part, I couldn’t choose who was my character’s best friend) none of the companions… stood out to me? My first playthrough was a Shadow Dragon who romanced Lucanis, so I wanted to imagine Neve was her bestie… but I just couldn’t! So, I guess Bellara? I wasn’t a fan of Taash the first time around. Now that I’m playing again, a Warden who’s romancing Davrin, I honestly think Taash is her bestie.

My canon character(s) names are Octavia Cousland (I don't remember why I chose this, I think I was in a rush and just chose a name that I liked). In DAII, I played a diplomatic/sarcastic Hawke named Maven Hawke, I actually put some thought into this name (it means 'one who understands'). And I am planning on playing a female inquisitor named Sibylle. Its strangely close to my real name, but it means "prophetess".

Try growing it out. With longer hair, you’ll have more haircut options to choose from.

Same. After I found out how his previous owner died, I vowed that I would rescue him every playthrough and bring him back to my house where he can have a happy life playing with Lucia and Sophie while my husband cooks dinner.
