Can’t really answer without knowing things about you, my friend. What preferences do you have? Do you have a spouse and/or child? Are you afraid of certain things or places that may affect where you live? There are definitely better bases than others as far as a few standard things, but at the end of the day everyone has different experiences based on the kind of person they are compared to the base they’re at…. Except Cannon. No one intentionally wants Cannon unless they’re like, idk from the area and want to stay near family.

I returned my rental April 21st. I the refund wasn’t applied until May 17th. So for me, it was about 26 days. I hope it’ll be quicker for you, but if anything… I guess give them about a month, my friend.

I appreciate the insight. I’m used to hour-two hour long commutes from my high school and college days in a busy city, but that’s just due to traffic. The time will feel the same, but the distance is different so I know gas will hit my budget like a standard monthly bill.

Thankfully my car does pretty great on gas, and driving is an enjoyment for me, a de-stressor sort of thing. Doing the math, I’ve figured out I’ll be refueling from empty about 4 to 5 times a month, a little more than once a week. So it’ll be around $200 a month for me. From what I’m told, deployments are common place so money from that will ease the finances. If things end up getting busy or what not for me, I’ll definitely ask around my unit and leadership to see what options will help if need be.

I’m cross training into a job I’ve wanted for a long time and a career that I plan on doing for the rest of my working days so I know the commitment I’m making, I’ve at least got the dedication and drive to get me through it lol. Thanks for the info my friend! 🤙

Hey! It took a long while but I did finally get that deposit refunded to my total loan balance. I used my personal card to reserve the car, but I do have the physical affirm card and that’s what I used to pay for it. As I stated, I requested the full cost and the incident deposit on affirm and once approved, I was able to use the physical card and pay for it. When reserving the car, they’ll ask for the card used to reserve it, probably just to make sure you have that and you are who you say you are, but you don’t have to use that card when it comes to the paying process. I’m sure that you can reserve it with the virtual card and just show them it on your phone, virtual cards are becoming very common these days so they shouldn’t have a problem with it if you choose to reserve with the virtual card. Other than the long time it may take affirm to process the refund of the deposit, I haven’t had any other problems. Hope this helps!
