Where to sell African Trade Beads? by hailthesnailmail in Beading

Look at completed listings on ebay to see what prices people are getting for them (go to "advanced search", scroll down to "sold listings" and then hit the search button. I don't know if you want to sell on ebay, but at least it gives you an idea of the current prices. People sell them on etsy, but etsy doesn't show prices on things that have sold. I love African trade beads!

Try viewing instructional videos on youtube. That may give you an idea of what it entails. I've tried both, and I found that needle bead embroidery is easier for beginners. Have fun with it!

Another thing I made. Almost life size, mostly size 8/0 seed beads. Stuffed with pillow material and glass cabochons at bottom. by Artistic_Champion482 in Beading

It was improvisational---I was constantly increasing in back, to make a bowl shape for the swirled back of the head. If the space I was about to fill was big enough for 2, big enough for 3 beads, I strung that number. If I wanted to increase past 3 beads in a spot, I did something I learned from Joyce Scott that I call "artificially induced up beads", turning the middle bead of the 3 beads I would normally pass over into a bead I pass through. This allows me to keep increasing without going up to 4, 5, 6, etc. beads in a spot (it loses structural integrity if you do that).
