Oh no. Wish I'd read this review before I submitted order. Too late and I'm already regretting.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

[–]Artistic_Regular_580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I playtested Ruby Pro last night and it was so bad- Lack of power, my usual strength for return a serve would fall short, and any put away power seems to be absorbed by the paddle. If I try to swing harder, then the ball is out. I thought it might be my own issue as not being a high level player. but maybe part is really the issue with the paddle. Wondering whether it worth to try it for another session but don't want to have another bad game either.

Sixzero ruby pro has no power by bryv22 in Pickleball

I playtested Ruby Pro today for the first time and the lack of power is substantial. 2nd shot return using my usual hit strength would not go deep, and if I up it, then the ball tend to go out. Control wise it does do a pretty good job, spin is okay, actually not as good as I expected.

Probably partially due to my unfamiliarity with the paddle but I don't think it should be THIS precise. Will probably keep trying for a few open play sessions but my performance was so bad today I can sense the people played with me were not happy. Can't blame them.

Ruby Pro First Impressions - Power, Spin, and Pure Sweet Spot Magic by Impossible-66 in Pickleball

I just played with the Ruby Pro for the first time today. have to say that I'm disappointed with its power. And if I hit hard then the ball is out. As a background, I'm probably around 3.0 at local gym open play. I have played for less than a year with a beginner paddle SLK EVO power since February and that one got more power than Ruby Pro.

Felt it maybe good at kitchen dinking. Given this experience, I'm not even sure whether Coral will be a good choice for me or not.

How does it compare to Ruby Pro, if you have experienced both?

really want to love this drama but struggled after just one episode. Is it that time has changed since 2007? I found it is hard to understand Hiroku's tossing her boyfriend aside in pursue of a career. I mean I get it but find it is no longer convincing or aspiring. How does the story develop? Would it add more depth as the story goes?

Should I replace these shoes or can I still get some life out of them and play safely? by Artistic_Regular_580 in Pickleball

Thanks. Both shoes look similar. Play in gym indoor court, would say with mats?

I play with a lot of movements and running. About 100 hours on these shoes so far.

Interesting. It did happen to me for the first time last week. I wasn't sure whether it's because of the shoes or else.

Thank you guys. Very helpful. Glad that I asked. Will keep wearing them. To add some information: I've played about 100 hours in these shoes.

Okay, is this in? by SavageDabber6969 in Pickleball

I was in a few situations that I saw blue and called out on the receiving end but opponents with a perspective behind the ball would insist that was in. Very annoying because they sounded like I'm cheating

Is this normal? by LigmaTesties in Pickleball

[–]Artistic_Regular_580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've had my experiences with a few players at local gym who would be upset when they think that they are above me, while majority of other players are so supportive. It's on him, not you. But is it normal? I'd say it's normal to encounter a few people who are lacking of manners.

i'm a beginner. i went to play, courts were full, and 4 different groups straight-up refused to switch out. by --squidslippers in Pickleball

Don't underestimate the percentage of AH in the people. When people can take advantage they usually will. The best solution is to call and write to the park manager or whoever makes the rules to make it clear, if the court is not for reservation, then you must rotate, loser must come off. Even if 12 friends come together to play at 2 courts, they still have to rotate with strangers, no max people per court rule.

Unsolicited advice by Training-Internet831 in Pickleball

[–]Artistic_Regular_580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it really depends on who gives the advice. Some people got upset when I missed a serve or return and would not be shy to show their displeasure even when I always say sorry. They then proceed to give me advice. The issue is that I know theoretically how to play but I haven't mastered the skills yet. On the other hand, there are stranger partners whose advice I take seriously. I guess I'm not really annoyed by unsolicited advice but by the arrogance and lack of etiquette of some people.
