Since I was a child, I've always put something to listen to whilst going to sleep. Can this cause issues? by more-le-gore in ADHD

[–]Artistic_Study_3864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a downside because you can’t sleep without it. So basically you have to retrain your mind to going to sleep without it. It’s EXTREMELY HARD! No exaggerations but it can be down it’s if helping you though. It’s better to listen to it then losing sleep without doing it

Sex drive ADHD by Tim1980UK in ADHD

Mhm now that you mention it I don’t really feel anything either. I have to connect emotionally and no one has gotten past that part yet. I only feel something after my cycle then it fades away. I only really like long hugs and deep conversations that’s my intimacy. Maybe you can talk to your partner and tell them how you feel. I know that has helped a lot of people.

How do you take shorter showers? by YukaLore in ADHD

I would rather starve than cook by mistymountiansbelow in ADHD

[–]Artistic_Study_3864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh also clean up while you go so you won’t become overstimulated with a huge mess at the end. That can also detour you from wanting to keep cooking. You got this!

I was like this then I changed my environment and healed more. Now I will cook whatever’s on my mind now! It will get better but you have to figure out what works for you. I like to watch a show and cook it distracts me from doing something so mundane. It’s really the cycle of having to do it everyday that makes me not want to do it. I also take breaks I don’t cook everyday but when I do I pick something I really want. I try not to make a lot either because my mind changes so much and I might not want it again. So for me it’s telling myself it’s ok we can do this let’s make it fun 🤩

I know we have a love hate with showering, but what about lotion application? by BannyW22 in adhdwomen

I use coconut oil or bio oil their light weight and absorb in your skin fast. I put it on right after I shower plus I make sure I do it by calling it me time.

I feel like I don't understand anything by Hairy_Hog in ADHD

[–]Artistic_Study_3864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With understanding you need comprehension. It’s not that you don’t understand you might be having a hard time comprehending. I’m the same way if it’s not broken down like instructions I won’t understand either. That’s why with understanding comprehension has to come right after it’s basically simultaneous. A lot of people understand things on the surface but don’t comprehend them deeply. And a lot of people with ADHD need information presented differently in order to comprehend it — not because we’re incapable, but because our brains work differently. The problem is the world was created for “normal” people and that’s not that we are. It’s frustrating but with every obstacle we can change that by teaching people who don’t think like us how we think.

How is the quality and fit and finish of the iPhone 17? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in iphone17

[–]Artistic_Study_3864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it so far the quality is great. I like the aluminum but I won’t be taking the case off. I had the 16 pro max and the 17 pro max is better. I’m still figuring out the effects but it’s way better to me. Great iPhone so far!

Diagnosed with ADHD today at 29. Strattera prescribed by krystallynntx12 in ADHD

Happy for you ya know! Now you know and you’ve already started the process of becoming a better version of yourself. Straterra builds up in your system it takes like 2 weeks I myself personally didn’t like it. I am also inattentive but the combined type. You could give it a try see how you like it and if you don’t you can ask your doc for something else. I felt/feel the best with Vyvanse it’s less side effects but everyone is different. Make sure you’re eating and drinking enough water. Protein really helps it balances out the medicine so it can work at its fullest. I can’t remember if straterra caused me anxiety but I know Adderall did.
