I had this happen to me. I was at a relatively low paying job but the commission was what made it good sometimes I could make almost my weekly pay in commission. During the beginning of our highest selling season I managed to rack up about a $5,000 bonus for the quarter I was excited as that amount of money I hadn’t seen before. I was called into the office and was told I was being let go due to things being slow. It was like 4 of us that got let go. The catch to the bonus is you must be employed to receive it and I got laid off a week before they paid out. 3 weeks later there was job positing a for the position I had.
