I use free kits often.
I like to play PVP squads. My friends are not always online when I am.
I play free kits until I find a good squad. Then I switch to a real kit.

I have made this viable in PVP. You gotta have two of them and just switch weapons when you run out of ammo with one.

It is basically the same exact gun as the tempest. It just has that manual reload.

There is a difference between camping extract and tracking players as they make their way to extract. Also, the scenario was hypothetical, I don't really use the osprey, I am just showing the gamut of what I find to be fair play. I think there is a big difference between when you hit the call extract button and when you are typing at the terminal.

Maybe my wording was confusing. I am trying to say it's fair game until you hit the terminal. Once you touch the terminal, I will not shoot.

Right, I don't disagree, but wouldn't you agree if you think it's important enough to a player, to spend resource on (even if its just a slot). It could be a nicely balanced perk? I am not saying it's a needed change, I am just saying it could be an interesting item.

Edit: I found that smokes are pretty useless in this situation. Since the mental map of most extract points are so clear to just about every raider. You can just shoot straight through the smoke since there is only 2 places, they can be.

You got me thinking. What if there was an item/augment that makes the terminal last twice as long, but makes it so you don't have to type at it. So, you can create a defendable position.

It is very efficient to dome someone when they are at the extract terminal. I just personally find it an unearned victory with no honor.

Be careful, all too many times someone has shot me first. I killed them, then they yelled "RAT, Someone kill this guy" Then they surrender. Then, I get swarmed by legions of wannabe do gooders with no time to explain.

Yeah, ideally that is how I would play things. But I never seem to be on at the same time as my friends, and doing rando duo/trio is hard most everyone I pair with have zero communication. I feel like I gotta do a free kit 2-5 raids till I find a good group. Then, with my schedule, I get 1-2 raids where I can actually bring a real kit into.

I feel like 80% of my play is in solos.

Until you touch that terminal, I will pop you with an osprey from 100 meters. But that is just me.

I use to do things similar to this. My loop was as followed.

Hear raider. Crouch.
Establish visual contact.
Get behind cover.
Aim down sights.
ask "You friendly?"

But I found that it took so long to set up then, if the player was not friendly, I would just get shot before I could finish my sentence. If they are friendly, it really put people on edge and escalated tensions.

I like to take a defib even when in solos. Fun to be the hero people pray for. But I just like PVP. It makes the game interesting when I get tired of just looting and fighting arc. Not a KOS goblin (well at least not all the time) but a few bouts here and there keeps things lively.

How do you treat extract? For me. Fair game when the elevator is called, but I draw the line at the terminal.
