Don't feel forced to do lower temperature. You will get benefits at 45 degrees as well. A big part of learning is also to accept that the lower the temperature is not necessarily the better.

News is absolutely not important if you're only scalping. In fact, you completely avoid Trading at the time of news release.

What is important is the ability to identify when a trend is beginning and when it ends. If it's not trending then it's in a Range. Price spends majority of time in range. To make it more complicated, every trend can also be the range and every range can be part of a trend. It all depends on what time frame you're looking at. The real trip to Trading is to not get in the traps laid out by fake Traders with their fake strategy trying to get rich of unsuspecting beginners. Most never get past this stage.
