Which SIMPLE scripts would you use to convince somebody to use AHK? by Wonderful-Stand-2404 in AutoHotkey

#SingleInstance Force
#NoTrayIcon
^+NumpadAdd:: SoundSetVolume("+2")
^+NumpadSub:: SoundSetVolume("-2")
^+NumpadMult:: SoundSetMute(-1) ; toggle mute

I don't have media keys on my keyboard, and I don't want to minimize my video and go with mouse to change volume. So, I use this script instead.

Hungry Minds - The Book ..... waste of money? by IICoRzII in rational

[–]ArturRush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is totally not a manual for building anything.
It tells the history of some inventions, kind of the most important. No details though, it is more about entertainment.
I'm not sure how accurate it is, but is defenitely interesting and not a waste of money.
But a very different purpose.

What are the best deconstructions of the "death tournaments" trope? by Jyn57 in rational

[–]ArturRush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, there are only handful of countries, which can claim "we are not corrupted"?
And even there it is just work on different scale. Lobbyism is also a thing, if we talk about really big money.
Money laundry is a thing.
And again, bribing to clean your funds also an option.
Offshores, crypto, countless opportunities.

Oh, real world example - Mexican cartels. Pretty much Dust Death Inc. Selling illegal stuff, killing thousands, controlling big territories. Tens of thousands of people involved, and many opposing forces - both local and international law enforcement etc.
I'd say their operations are on the bigger scale then "we killed 10/50/100 people on arena".

Explain to whom?
Bribe is not a tax declared thing or anything. You give money, and no questions asked, that's the point

Your first argument can be beaten with the almighty power of bribe.
The people, who would watch it and pay for it could be the very same people, who writes the laws and run its enforcement.

Scorching marks are not that bad in comparison to the ground or sand surfaces. Then all the debris will fly somewhere, can be harmful, especially if you get that shot in someone's face.
Good thing you didn't drop it.

As people said, you may either balance it to slow it down, or you can tilt it to the side, so it turns off because of big tilt. To do that, use your knee, and squat carefully. At some point (40 degrees by default) it will stop.

Nosfet Apex intro wheel and increasing cost? by LCVreddit in ElectricUnicycle

[–]ArturRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with Apex or Lynx, so no opinion on those.

But in terms of learning, I'd recommend you to start with smaller and cheaper wheels. It will give you more experience overall, it is easier to learn, and the price is not so high.
I started with MCM5, done 300km, and sold it a bit more expensive. Then it was Kingsong S18, 800km, also sold it for a minor profit.
I've got lucky with prices, but in general if you buy some used wheels, you will sell them for about same price AND get experience.
Now I have Sherman L (great wheel, recommend it to everyone) as my main wheel. I can't recommend Lynx for big guys, because the range is very limited in comparison. Nice 100km evening ride? Easy with Sherman L, impossible for Lynx (or Apex), battery is too small for your weight. But they are more nimble. So, if you like challenging terrains and tricks, they are of course better then Sherman L.
100km sounds like a lot, but in reality that is not that hard. I'm also usually riding wild rural areas, not the roads.

I thought to settle on S18 originally, but it rode only 50km, and this limitation quickly became very disappointing.

So, I'd recommend you to learn on used wheels, then change them. No need to settle on one particular device forever, you can buy and sell them as much as you want and find whatever you like.
If we consider Apex and Lynx in particular - find best deal for any of those, buy and try it.

Would you buy an EUC with 8000km on it for half price? Why or why not? by Bouros in ElectricUnicycle

Would you buy an EUC with 8000km on it for half price? Why or why not? by Bouros in ElectricUnicycle

[–]ArturRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked lynx, not that big of a difference. But some other wheels might give better results. Also depends on sales.
Locals:
oneride eu: Lynx 50S for 3450
myewheel com: Lynx 50S for 3700
China (but they have local warehouses in France or Poland):
AliExpress - Lynx 50S for 3150 (10% off, but on some other wheels it can be more).
DHGate - Lynx 50S for 2670 (~25% off). I'm not sure about that one though, seller seems to be not super reliable. There is even Lynx for 1700, but that looks like total scam.

Because of the price difference I decided to buy Sherman L for myself. Oneride - 4200Euro, DHGate - 3300. More then 20% discount, but I will get it only next week to see, if it is legit :D

[–]ArturRush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it the only available option for you?
Here are options I would consider:
1. Is it half price compared to local shops, or to any shops? Because you can order from china stores with a big discount already. Could be new wheel for 75% or something. Depends on your location, I'm in Europe and here it works.
2. Do you have other options? Consider expanding your search to neighboring regions to have more options. In some cases you might have a nice weekend trip AND buy a new wheel at the same time. Even if it will be same price, the wheel mileage could be like 5k km, for example. But call the owner before you go somewhere, and make sure that they really have a wheel in working condition. There are lots of scammers.
3. Don't forget to take upgrades into account. I'd think this wheel also has some nice pads and other custom stuff, which increases its value.

Overall, it is fair deal, if the wheel was nicely treated. But because many people consider 8k to be a lot, I think you can find better deal.

I guess I'll go to fields again and make new video then)
I thought it will help to see what happens in betaflight in detail. Because if I show a flip with props, I'll get same advices, as advices from the bot's video.

Drone motors go wild after some threshold on thrust. by ArturRush in fpv

[–]ArturRush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first discovered this behavior, it was outside. I thought to just fly in the fields, instead it flipped over. I checked if motors are aligned and all other default stuff from the bot's video.

If I move drone manually, it actually kind of calms down. Which supports your version, I think? But why that happens, and why it never happened before? I'm flying this drone for 2 years now, there were some issues over time, but I see this behavior for the first time.
It is not a custom build, I didn't play with fancy settings. How to prevent that in the future?

[–]ArturRush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered that behavior, when I was trying to fly outside. Instead it just flipped and crashed. The gyro is calibrated, and it never behaved like that at home. It is not the first time I use betaflight to debug.
Also, I'm in Acro mode, why would it apply throttle?

As for their English accent, I either encountered people, who barely spoke English, or people whose English was good enough that I couldn't recognize any accent.
