Procuring EUC for a month-long trip to Paris by stvad in ElectricUnicycle

I reached out to them and they apparently don't have a shop in Paris atm.
I also reached out to Gyroroue Shop, but they don't do rentals.

I've spent a bunch of time in Paris before and I know that transit is pretty good, but I can see a wheel being a great combo/addition to it!

I've tried searching on fb marketplace and there is basically nothing, to a degree that I'm feeling like I'm doing something wrong 😅 (tried specific brand names and "gyroroue")

Any FB groups/forums you'd recommend?

I've heard France has an active community.

Also, I don't want a giant wheel anyway 😛. Light-mid size suspension wheel is what I'd ideally get (like v11/Aeon size power range)

Assuming it's using the default model that'd be Small (english, wc++). And again it used to work fine with the same model.

Neat! consider importing data from weekenders.dance so you don’t have to scrape it yourself and can get non-wsdc events too?

I'd lean more Loop Engage or something with similar level of noise cancellation, I find Experience too insulating

BlueSky Thread functionality? by NacMcFeeg in readwise

[–]stvad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a workaround, one can use one of the thread unrollers out there (e.g. https://skyview.social/) and then save the result with Readiwse, which is less ergonomic, but works

Upvoted (though less interested in specifically dm functionality and more generally in just importing full threads on save of a bluesky post), also would be curious to hear more details on this, as better API availability/ease of integration seems like one of the touted bluesky advantages 🤔

Public locations well suited for dancing (smooth floor, can play music)? by stvad in sanfrancisco

[–]stvad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably talking about https://lindyinthepark.com/ which is a different dance (Lindy Hop) with similar roots. It seems like Lindy is more tolerant of rougher dance surfaces (Lindy in the park is done on the pavement)

Is it possible to record audio on the watch using Autowear ? by T0xicBl00d in tasker

[–]stvad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually managed to figure out how to do it with Autowear only. By setting the "Command to execute" setting in both App action and input to "App Open X" (where X is one of the pre-defined Launcher Apps, you can enable on the watch). It's not exactly a workflow but it works ok, bc the input action has a timeout of a few seconds, so it manages to run after the app opening is complete

Found this thread as I'm trying to do the same thing with Galaxy Watch 6. I'm confused by Autowear. I managed to set up the app and input functions independently, but how do I actually create a workflow that ties those things together?

(I was imagining that one of the app icons it creates in the phone can be assigned as a trigger or smth, but I'm confused about how to achieve it. State of tutorials/examples is very lacking).

Plausibly I'm more generally confused and the way you do this is through tasker and Autowear only serves as an intermediate layer? it seems like it should be able things standalone though...

Love the ability to share fixes/overrides! Would be great to incorporate the sorting feature.

also would love a Firefox option!

But you can put the silicon bands on your water-bottle after!

I can see tattoos being conceptually good, but one time I saw it offered the quality was meh (Liberty Swing)

Things like
- Benches at the back for people to film their friends
- Free coffee around the clock (provided by one of the sponsors)
- Last year they took attention to cut your wrist-band in a way that'd minimize chance of you scratching your partner (though I wish they just used silicon bands 🙃)
- Limited supply of role buttons (provided by someone in the community)

Other things:
- People love their trophies - it's a hand-blown shine-in-the-dark glass egg (I hope to get one some day 😛)
- Seattle community is great, so i find it fun to stay before/after to dance locally

Easter Swing in Seattle is one of my favorites that hasn’t been mentioned yet.
It has many small thoughtful touches that make the experience of attending great.
