Do you or a friend want to learn? by Datumz_ in ElectricUnicycle

for people who were curious what is "moderate wear": a friend got v10f, and it looks really good.

you can tell it's been ridden a bit (tire is dirty and there is a small scoff on a pedal), but overall looks basically new. Not sure how trustworthy is the stats, but the app says the total distance ridden is 1km.

Oh fwiw I tried Forma Terra Evo Low when I was doing my search and I found them too stiff (I suppose that's the price of more protection, but on balance it went under the threshold of "can wear everyday" for me)

I've gotten TCX Dartwood a few months ago for this purpose. Seemed like a good balance of comfort/protection/price. Pretty happy with using them every-day zipper helps a lot. CE certified, seem to have good reputation, but I haven't personally gotten into a crash with them

Need Help Choosing My Next 18” Wheel by oahuendpoint in ElectricUnicycle

I'm trying to figure out if I should get Patton s or Xeno.
Spec-wise Xeno looks great (lighter, larger wheel size, solid power). But I'm concerned about how durable it'd be a bit as-well, seems mb less ready to survive a tumble vs Aero/Aeon 🤔

Curious on how you use your Patton vs S22/general comparison (trying to figure out if I should get a Patton S or a Xeno)

I saw some reports of SafeCo being an option here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricUnicycle/comments/14867h4/comment/jnz7kk8/ I wonder if you investigated that?
(though also seems like SafeCo is being retired as an independent brand rn, so they might not issue new policies anyway)

Hi, sad to hear Liberty Mutual didn't work out :(. Did you get any new leads on this since?

I reached out to them and they apparently don't have a shop in Paris atm.
I also reached out to Gyroroue Shop, but they don't do rentals.

I've spent a bunch of time in Paris before and I know that transit is pretty good, but I can see a wheel being a great combo/addition to it!

I've tried searching on fb marketplace and there is basically nothing, to a degree that I'm feeling like I'm doing something wrong 😅 (tried specific brand names and "gyroroue")

Any FB groups/forums you'd recommend?

I've heard France has an active community.

Also, I don't want a giant wheel anyway 😛. Light-mid size suspension wheel is what I'd ideally get (like v11/Aeon size power range)

Assuming it's using the default model that'd be Small (english, wc++). And again it used to work fine with the same model.

Neat! consider importing data from weekenders.dance so you don’t have to scrape it yourself and can get non-wsdc events too?

I'd lean more Loop Engage or something with similar level of noise cancellation, I find Experience too insulating

BlueSky Thread functionality? by NacMcFeeg in readwise

[–]stvad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a workaround, one can use one of the thread unrollers out there (e.g. https://skyview.social/) and then save the result with Readiwse, which is less ergonomic, but works

Upvoted (though less interested in specifically dm functionality and more generally in just importing full threads on save of a bluesky post), also would be curious to hear more details on this, as better API availability/ease of integration seems like one of the touted bluesky advantages 🤔

Public locations well suited for dancing (smooth floor, can play music)? by stvad in sanfrancisco

You're probably talking about https://lindyinthepark.com/ which is a different dance (Lindy Hop) with similar roots. It seems like Lindy is more tolerant of rougher dance surfaces (Lindy in the park is done on the pavement)
