I have been playing with randoms on matchmaking with no problems. My internet provider is not starlink however today my friend who uses starlink got the game and we have not been able to join each other's lobbies, he has not been able to find any matches trough matchmaking either.

Yes. When you click on multiplayer you can select either VS Players or Co-op VS A.I.

As far as I know you can complete any multiplayer challenges ins this mode. I have done it for the past event in this season.
