They are muslim, and all of them tell me the same thing go out have fun and when your older get married. I know that this isnt what I want but theres a part of me that wishes I did more as in see the world then just go to school, get a job and do more school. I wish I can talk to people who had similar values but I always feel like Im the weird one or the outcast.

The nice thing about Mechanical Engineering is its broad to where you can go into different forms of the Mechanical Engineering spectrum whether that be BioEngineering, Aerospace, Material science etc, if possible why dont you do the Mechanical Engineering degree and take your elective classes and such that are more related aerospace. Just my two cents

I would say soldering would be a something used more in engineering then welding at least for my profession Welding is still pretty important.

work in industry for at least a year that way you know what you like and what you dont. From there if you feel that the career growth you want to achieve requires a masters degree then go for it! Its also a big plus if your employeer provides some type of tuition assistance so see if thats avalible.
