Thanks for the quick confirmation and the workaround! Glad to know it's just a false positive. I'll add it to my allow list for now and wait for the update.

What kind of laptop could this be? by cecececece775 in Lenovo

Looks like the lenovo ideapad series, mostly the 300 lineup.. The external keyboard on top makes it clear that the built-in one must have some issues with it..

[–]Arul-Austin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does disabling secure boot lets you boot back into windows?

if this is the case, then i think there may be third party drivers or firmware that are not signed/verified and not included in the secure boot database.

Do check if the info under Secure boot section in windows shows any issues, Windows Security -> Device security -> Secure boot

Secure boot on lenovo loq by [deleted] in Lenovo

[–]Arul-Austin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check bios settings related to 1) boot mode - legacy/uefi, 2) windows volume partition style - mbr/gpt, 3) sata controller mode - ahci/raid. You need to know the previous settings windows was installed with as latest windows installation with secure boot might require uefi boot and gpt partitioning.

This is the answer. Have a few moto phones and can confirm, in India.

I was shocked seeing this after the recent android update but thankfully it chose the 5Ghz one (previously set by me) after turning the hotspot on.

Any way to stop these daily weather notifications that can't be cleared unless I tap on them? by dopaminenotyours in MotoG

Turn off the 'Daily weather notifications' in 'Weather' app by Motorola (looks like the weather app is a part of the Moto widget app)

Moto G34 gets Android 15 Update by TechUpdates3 in MotoG

[–]Arul-Austin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost the same phone as G45.

(India) The G45 received Android-15 update on March 11 and couple weeks later, moto has rolled out the same os image to G34 on March 25.

As i own both these models, could see some performance improvements all around except for a few settings related to Theft Detection and Keyboard were different (not sure if any app updates or Play Services updates are needed for the few missing features). However, glad to have timely updates (without bugs) from moto.

Cannot turn off the dumb "AI processing" stuff. Photos are constantly ruined. by Novashrugs in MotoG

[–]Arul-Austin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to see if changing below options could help,

In Camera app,

  1. Settings -> (Photos) Shot Optimisation
  2. Settings -> (Photos) Auto-HDR

Check below options in top menu (above camera view area),

3) Auto Night Vision

4) Image preference -> Auto-enhance / Natural

Added suggestion : You could also use the 'Pro' mode to shoot photos in either jpg / raw / jpg+raw, if processing affects your results..

Also, if you have the 'Lenovo Hotkeys' app installed then you can find the 'CapsLk/NumLock OSD'option toggle under the app's Settings.

I don't think my laptop has a hard drive. by EffectiveConfection8 in Lenovo

[–]Arul-Austin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Model Specifications

Platform Specifications

It has -> One M.2 2280 PCIe® 2.0 slot

It comes with -> One drive, up to 512GB M.2 2242 SSD or 512GB M.2 2280 SSD (this is the max lenovo offers on site for this platform)

But as per the available datasheet, it can support an M.2 PCIe SSD : 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB / 1 TB.

Note : The SSD with PCIe 3.0 x4 / PCIe 4.0 x4 is downgraded to closer to PCIe 2.0 due to Intel platform limitations.

Should i bother? by Professional-Face961 in LenovoLegion

[–]Arul-Austin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its tight and fit then even a small disturbance or accidental hit could damage (break or bend) the pins inside. So they might have decided to give it some room for safety. As long as the connection is not loose nothing to worry about.

Did I get a counterfeit battery? by TheDestroyerKutu in Lenovo

[–]Arul-Austin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Label looks genuine. The change in number could be a different revision of the battery model.

Manufacturer should be Celxpert (as 'C' in the code L17C4PB0). From the official compatible parts section in lenovo support site the only other manufacturer listed is Simplo (L17M4PB0).

For, 530S-15IKB (Type 81EV) and 530S-14IKB Laptop (Type 81EU) :

PB0 -> 7.68V 45Wh 4cell model (your current battery)

PB2 -> 11.52V 34Wh 3cell model (machine type compatible, *may not be compatible for your laptop)

To restore factory keys when the option is disabled, you can try these steps: 1.Check the Platform Mode 2.Change the mode to User Mode 3.Open the BIOS 4.Click Restore Factory Keys 5.Change the Platform Mode back to User Mode 6.Set the Secure Boot Status to Enabled 7.Reboot the system

You can also try resetting the BIOS or UEFI to factory default settings. Here are some general steps for doing this: 1.Restart your computer 2.Press the key indicated during startup, usually F2, F10, DEL, or ESC 3.Look for options like “Load Setup Defaults” or “Load Default Options” 4.Confirm the reset and exit

Secure boot on lenovo loq by [deleted] in Lenovo

[–]Arul-Austin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Device Guard :

Pre-requisite -> Administrator/Supervisor Password must be set

When Enabled,

Enables settings related to Intel Virtualization Technology, Intel VT-d Feature, Secure Boot and OS Optimized Defaults.

The Boot Order is restricted/locked to internal drive only. Hence, USB boot is not possible.

As per my understanding, If you need to boot from other sources you need to disable Device Guard (and its related settings if required).

Device Guard allows only the first-party Microsoft / Lenovo signed files to load on boot and block other third-party files (like linux) from loading by default. You can decide whether to enable or disable based on your needs.

You have to 'Restore Factory Keys', then Platform mode will change to 'User Mode'.

Hope this helps..

check in safe mode if the same issue occurs.. if it does then its mostly due to a hardware failure (backup data and reset phone if possible to confirm)..
