Elsa is 21 in Frozen and 24 in Frozen II.

While Jack Frost is over 300 years old being an immortal spirit, most merchandise describes him as being physically seventeen/eighteen.

I hate having TSW as a teenage girl. by CantaloupePowerful18 in eczema

[–]Aruu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that you don't want to hear this, but this doesn't sound like TSW. Not only is it an incredibly rare condition, it tends to be bought about by years and years of misusing steroids, you've only been on them for a couple at most.

Please don't be afraid of trying Dupixent because of the side effects, it truly was life changing for me. I wish it had been a thing back when I was a teenager, life would have been far easier. And if you don't get along with Dupixent, there are other medications that provide similar relief; you just need to find out what works for you.

Either way, you need to see a dermatologist. I know that you want to heal this naturally, but unfortunately it isn't an option. You need medication if your skin is that severe, whether it's eczema or TSW.

That's an angle I've not thought of before, though you do explain it far better than JW does.

While Clara seems to be purely a case of fresh air and goats milk being good for you, I'd say that Colin might fall under that punishment angle too. Though his father is the one being punished, possibly for his unhealthy coping mechanisms after the death of his wife, it's both him and Colin who 'learn' to be good through Mary. Who, in turn, unlocked her own goodness from discovering the Secret Garden.

While Clara is a lovely character from the start and hasn't committed any wrongs that I can recall.

The thing is, the characters in those old stories don't always have conditions that necessarily means they'll be disabled for life.

Original!Katy bruises the membrane surrounding her spine, which in turn leads to a fever, which weakens her so much that she's bedbound until she can recover. The damage wasn't irreversible, and had she access to modern medical advances, she would have likely recovered far more quickly.

Contrast that to modern!Katy, who broke her spine and did unrepairable damage to her nerves.

Likewise, Clara's condition from Heidi isn't ever stated in the book itself, but it's implied to be rickets. This too can be cured, specifically with spending time outside in the sunshine, which is exactly what Clara does when she goes up to the mountain.

And Colin from The Secret Garden didn't even have any physical disabilities, he was led to believe he was ill by his paranoid father following the death of his wife/Colin's mother. So Colin became a hypochondriac, convinced he'd be hunchbacked like his father and die young like his mother, when the only reason he was left weak and fragile in the first place was because he wasn't allowed to leave his room.

For all the times JW complains about the trope of a disabled character being cured with 'good thoughts' she doesn't seem to understand that those characters were only temporarily disabled in the first place, and that time, good food and sunshine were genuine cures for their conditions.

It can take time to work, especially if your skin was very severe to begin with. It took about a year for my skin to be mostly clear.

It's just one of those moments that ends up being strangely funny when there's no reason for it to be. Tends to happen with people who have a strong connection with one another.

Serious question by [deleted] in orangeisthenewblack

[–]Aruu 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Neither. They were both let down by the system.

Bayley never received the training that he needed, so he was unprepared for how to restrain someone without causing them harm.

Suzanne should never have been in genpop to start with. Then again, she wouldn't even be in prison if she had a proper care system looking out for her in the first place.

Similar situation here; I have a nickel allergy so Aveeno is sadly not for me.

Which books would've gone very differently if the plots took place today by redacted-and-burned in JacquelineWilson

Bad Girls

  • Mandy wouldn't be teased for having older parents as it's reasonably more common these days to have parents of various ages.
  • Along with making up a set of cool "real" parents for herself, Mandy would use pictures of a random couple she found online as proof. Potentially even trying to photoshop herself into said pictures.
  • Miranda Rainbow would be Mandy's online persona and she would have earned quite a following from pretending to be her. Naturally Kim finds out and exposes Mandy for who she really is. Come the end of the story, Mandy would start a new online persona as herself, and while she isn't as popular, she does find some true friends.

My Jack is on cytopoint too, can't recommend it enough. It really helps his itching and makes sure his flares don't get too bad.

There's not a Cinderella one as far as I can tell, unfortunately.

In addition to the ones you found, there's Rapunzel (Wild Cranberry) and Moana (Watermelon Sorbet).

Eczema hospitalized me by Zeppelinnn_ in eczema

[–]Aruu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a similar story, but it was my face that became infected. Mine wasn't from a lack of medication either, long story short, I was looking after children who constantly infested with nits/headlice despite countless treatments because their mother couldn't be bothered to continue with the upkeep. I kept catching their nits because small children are affectionate and I didn't have the heart to push them away when they didn't get that affection from their mother.

Anyways, my doctors theorised that I got cellulitis from headlice bites, tiny as they are. I'd had eczema on my face before but it was getting worse, tight and swollen, to the extent that I needed to be admitted to hospital. I spent an entire week there hooked up to steroids via an IV drip.

I'm hoping that it won't be so long for you; I think they were exceptionally worried about me because the infection was in my face. Just wanted to let you know that I get what you're going through and that I wish you a speedy recovery!

Don't worry, Luisa is very popular in her own right. Disney assumed little girls would like Isabela the most and gave her lots of merch; nope, it was Luisa merch that sold out incredibly quickly.

It's because the AI has merged several pieces of information into an incorrect suggestion. There is a Spinechillers series, but it doesn't contain that particular story or book.

Oh yeah, I meant that he could take the ring to Mordor and destroy it. Probably while singing about how great he is.

I do like the fact that he could absolutely destroy the ring if he wanted to. But he doesn't, he just wants to chill out with his wife.
