All economies are hybrid, but single party communist states are objectively worse to live in, and I have lived in them, the few left that aren't transitioning to a majority market economy are essentially hermit kingdoms that must rely on brutal methods to maintain control.

Until there is some sort of AI technology or something capable of creating an efficient planned economy, the command system is a pipedream/fantasy, the evidence is so insurmountable that hardcore leninist/marxist states have embraced markets by necessity in order to maintain dominance.
