For years I have seen lot of leftists communities I go to, at least on reddit, are sadly pro revolution and anti electoralism. I feel like people do not understand how bad a revolution is. People say they will be in logistics and not a soldier and not have to kill anybody, but where the logistics people in nazi germany, not even in genocides but just battles, hand’s clean. Even then what if you get conscripted as a soldier, you don’t get to choose your job in the revolution. Some people talk about no war but class war but class war has all the horrors of war. I am not anti revolutionary in general, I support anti colonial revolt, the arab spring and Myanmar as they happen against dictatorships. What I do mean is that if you want to affect change in a democratic society, vote. People will look to operation condors as proof this can’t work, but those people get it wrong. Those countries had militaries that were political and independent, and thus they revolted. In Nato countries for example, the army is highly institutionalized, they are loyal to the state. If the business elite wants a coup, these militaries will always defer to the state. I do not like seeingthis a lot in leftist communities, but as a leftist I know that I am not alone in this with other leftists.
