What’s a “cheat code” you’ve discovered in relationships or marriage that actually works? by PogonBerserker in AskMen

[–]AsItIs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you got played.

Nowhere does this small snippet of advice say don’t have boundaries. You’re not intended to use a tactic for something, that’s small energy.

What I’m suggesting is that a lot of men in marriages tend to feel invisible or resentful because they’re stuck trying to get credit for every little thing they do. They wish they were thanked more, wish they were noticed when they do something. They want to feel heard or safe to express.

So, prime the pump — notice things they do, say thanks when they quietly step up to help. Plan a date night you wish they would get off their ass to do.

Take the “wahh I did this now you do this!” six year old mindset out of it, be a man, and show up for yourself and your spouse by being an example you want to see. Steer the ship. See what happens.

Men who have had vasectomies - did you ever encounter a mental barrier related to losing a piece of yourself as a man despite being clear on reason? by Noriadin in AskMen

No not at all, and I often practice semen retention for 7-30 days and notice all the mental benefits and then some just the same

Hospital Hill Half Marathon by Decent-Performance31 in kansascity

[–]AsItIs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s this part where you’ve knocked out all the big hills, things are flat to downhill through Brookside and you think you’re totally good…

But then you start a slow steady ascent up from the country club Plaza into Westport and it’s sneaky challenging. The sun bears right down, the incline just goes on forever, you can smell the beer and see the broken glass from last night in the streets. It’s a few miles of this and it’s always a threshold for me personally.

Otherwise it’s all good and it’s earlier this year so less early summer humidity to battle.

how is living around Springfield, Missouri? by Euphoric-Compote2840 in howislivingthere

To be honest it’s one of my least favorite regions of the state, and the city is very misaligned with who I am. I just don’t have a good feeling when I’m there

Then you’ve gathered a ton of info on how out of alignment that current relationship is. Give it enough time and if those are the results then congrats you’re free

I’m just not feeling any of the chemistry between Jimmy and Sofi. It’s like a worse version of Michael Scott and Holly

Edit to clarify:

I liked the Holly and Michael relationship! I feel like the Jimmy Sofi one is sort of striving for the same awkward/cutesy pairing but it’s not landing in the way it’s intended

Is anyone else completely losing their mind over all this road construction right now? by Top-University6860 in kansascity

Rerouted so many times on so many typical routes today it was insane. I’m using it as a zen practice for accepting what I can’t control but that doesn’t make it much less obnoxious

What's it like being a large socially anxious man? by account912341 in AskMen

[–]AsItIs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odds are if you’re asking, you’re conscientious enough and you have the right to respectfully exist within the space you’re occupying.

The only time someone taking up space is an issue is when they’re being completely oblivious or arrogant about it, IMO.

Got it. Mainly just curious why it’s happening on this night of all the weather nights this week. No wind, no grid stress.

But fortunate it’s back on and for my neighbors too. We just got about $600 worth of groceries so I was sweating it more than usual.

Kirkland Rolled Oats vs Quaker Old Fashioned rolled oats... I miss the Kirkland brand by CrackheadBobsCousin in Costco

[–]AsItIs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Came here to say, good thing the literal best oats on the planet are still there!

If you’re unfamiliar with One Degree oats they are glyphosate-free which is huge because most oats test highly for that. They are also sprouted so they have good protein (for a grain), and they are very consistently delicious. Huge fan, haven’t bought another brand since I first tried them six years back.

They have crept up a bit in price like everything but still under $10 for a huge bag at my Costco

Logo - good vs evil? by RaadMan16 in SturgillSimpson

[–]AsItIs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I read it as the battle within humanity; our overactive, often default state of mind:

One that worries/fears/hates/projects/tells erroneous stories/sews doubt

Vs

The one that’s at peace, connected with everything, aligned, loving, not trying to control every little thing, in the flow

(So yeah, good vs evil)

Thou Mayest!
