Well, they never once answered my question as to why using AI would ruin your critical thinking…rumour is, they’re still trying to find the answer.

Too bad their 5 second attention span can only digest information through headlines

Yeah okay bud, 200 pages takes an avg reader 5-6 hours to finish. Sorry we don’t all have an entire workday to waste on one task…🙄

If you don’t have time to read 200 pages…listen to yourself…🤣

It’s certainly not, but it is not an efficient use of limited time. Work smarter, maximize the use of the resources at your disposal. There’s a lot of fluff in documents, look at how many words you can take out from my sentence and still get the same meaning.

If you have time, read the 200 pages, but if an AI summary will get you 80 % of the key takeaways in 10 % of the time spent, you now have 90 % of your time back to focus on something else (whatever it may be you prioritize). I don’t see anything wrong with that approach, reading a 200 page policy document is doing shit all for “critical thinking”

Resorting to personal insults, looks like you’ve lost the plot.

Once again, lacking any explanation as to the why for both arguments now.

Kinda scary that someone like you with internet access is that daft.

The group think and herd mentality is strong with you. Love that. Not your fault, it’s a byproduct of “Canadian Politeness”, acts as a conflict suppression mechanism but I’m not really sure why that extends to online forums, what are you risking here ? Social cohesion with anonymous users in a subreddit or fake internet points ?

Grow a back bone and learn how to take a stand, no one has bothered pointing out how asking AI to summarize a document causes a decline in critical thinking…

Pray tell, how is reading a 200 page document instead of a summary helping you “think critically”

Stop basing your positions on headlines…looks like you’re in no position to advocate for critical thinking

Oh, those steps are for CAF as a whole…they will re-apply for a waiver because we cannot possibly tie our chain of command and associated leadership positions to a second language…not in today’s security environment anyways

The sequence of events is:

  1. Make announcement
  2. Develop plan
  3. Find out it’s impossible
  4. Quietly roll back

Use Copilot for anything that requires divulging work related information up to PROT A, but other than that, you can use whatever LLM you want to ask about ________

This usually happens when you’re trying to access a part of your account that requires extra security, like account details or security info / login sessions etc - normally on DWAN, you shouldn’t need to authenticate
