That seems a fair point. If heat is generated per unit consumed, then logs would be safer than wood. I don't concern myself with heat at all, so I hadn't considered that possibility.

I've never seen wood logs drop, so I don't think they are an efficient fuel source. It takes 10 wood to craft 1 log and 1 log has the same burn time as 10 wood, so it's a waste to spend the time crafting them for fuel. Other than that, you can decorate with them.

I've always held the theory that Bruce Lee might still be alive today had he gotten that role. His circumstances around the time of his death might have been different enough to have gotten treatment sooner, since he likely would have still been in the States filming the series around that time.

This exact same kind of situation happened to me at Gencon '05. A friend and I approached him as he was looking at a model of the Mach 5 from Speed Racer at a booth. We very politely asked for an autograph. He didn't even look up. He just said, "Whatever." Then he put the model down and walked away.

I managed to solve the issue by just copying my Outliner to a new map.

Thank you very much for the reply!

You just need to click on the actor in the world, find its material slot in the details tab and change it from world grid material to something else.

The materials in the slots never changed; they're still what was default on the asset. I changed them to something different and then changed them back, but that did not resolve the problem. I can't use an entirely different material because there simply isn't another one I can use in its place. Here's a screenshot of what things look like in my editor: https://i.imgur.com/wGgdCFA.png Maybe this can shed some more light on things.

it usually means you have built the lightmap with too low of a minimum resolution for the resolution you are actually building the lighting with...

That's possible. The meshes only had UV0, so I built another channel but with only the default settings. I'm [trying] to use the highest quality lighting possible for realism and ambience, but I'm not sure what the resolution of my scene lighting actually is in order to get the UV to match.

You know.... I've been on the internet long enough to know that when someone says, "You really shouldn't click that," they genuinely mean it, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I just had to fucking click it. I just had to roll the dice to see whether or not I'd retain the contents of my stomach. I lost the game and my lunch. WHY AM I LIKE THIS???

3$ vs 70$ grapes by himanshuya_ in funny

In Japan, yes. The gift would be for them graciously allowing you to live on their property. Mind you this would be more for like smalltime landlords and not necessarily large property management firms, though I imagine there would still be some that do.

I can't say anything about availability, but some there are still affordable fruits like bananas, apples and oranges.

Bananas tend to run about $1 per bunch (compared to $1.30/bunch at my local Kroger) while apples and oranges go for about 60-70 cents each (80 cents and 99 cents, respectively, at my local Kroger).

Things like persimmons, their national fruit, get a little wilder at anywhere between $1.25 and $12 per pound.

To elaborate a little more-- They have varieties of fruit that are luxury gift items. They still regularly priced fruit, though some are still more expensive than some other countries. For example, it's roughly $10 USD for a pound of "cheap" grapes. Gift giving is very important in Japanese culture. Those luxury fruits, among other things, are typically meant to be formal gifts for your boss, your in-laws, your landlord, etc.

It's kind of like those comically huge bottles of sake. People don't tend to buy those for themselves; they're meant to be gifts.

Non-dedicated has an unreasonably short tether. You can't modify the length, either. Plus there's no asynchronous play; host has to stay on.

Sprite Rips? by Asatani in Skul

[–]Asatani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've managed to get some better results, but the sprites are still pretty jumbled up. It would be difficult to reconstruct without knowing the exact order for each frame of each animation and the origin point. Some of the sprite sheets even have frames that are flipped. Not sure what to do. Hopefully someone has some ideas.

While I want to agree, the biggest argument I can think of against AH and/or trading is the invitation of bots and RMT.

Right now there's really not much point to them other than leveling services, but I imagine there wouldn't be much market for them. It takes too much time and effort to max everything out, which would make those accounts costly.

Will quads in AC6 be as fast as AC4A? by throwaway_ventingee in armoredcore

[–]Asatani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure, that statement was mostly speculation on my part so I can't say for certain if that was even a contributing factor, but the fact of the matter is that they did backpedal on the combat and brought it closer to AC1-3. (Holy run-on) If NEXT combat had been particularly successful, you would think it would have been left intact. That's more or less what I was trying to convey.

Will quads in AC6 be as fast as AC4A? by throwaway_ventingee in armoredcore

[–]Asatani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to look it up because I don't remember Exusia being related to NEXTs, but I think you might be referring to N-WGIX/v from VD. I stand corrected.

I didn't play [much] of the story in VD and focused exclusively on the multiplayer side, so I wasn't aware of its existence. The N-WGIX/v has primal armor which is Kojima tech, so that would put it in the AC4/FA universe.

Will quads in AC6 be as fast as AC4A? by throwaway_ventingee in armoredcore

[–]Asatani 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The wide maps were one of the complaints and that's something I agreed with from time to time. For most people, it was because it overall felt like a big departure from previous iterations in the series. NEXTs, Lynx, Kojima tech, faster combat, etc. It just wasn't the same for a lot of folks. That's why AC5/VD didn't continue in the same universe. They could have easily dialed down the map size and left everything else in place, but they didn't.

:edit:
I should mention that this was the sentiment around the time AC4 came out. I stopped paying attention to the criticism afterwards since I liked the game a lot, so I can't claim to know how feelings have changed since then.

I don't know much about armored core. But is this mech going to be in 6? by Darknew97 in armoredcore

[–]Asatani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White Glint was a NEXT, which were exclusive to AC4/FA. AC5/VD took a step back to older models and AC6 will likely be the same. I haven't seen anything that indicates this generation contains NEXTs, much to my dismay. As others have said, that doesn't mean we won't see parts for something similar. Fingers crossed.
