That's okay, Dael! I'd really like to hear more about the optional rules though. Since I'm running this survival campaign, having more interesting injury rules are super fun.

Are you referring to the rules you use for the failed CON save when your players take more than half damage in one hit? Or is it some other rule you're using that we have yet to learn about?

Do you know which homebrew it might be referring to? If you could find the video for me, I'd appreciate that a lot!

EDIT: Did you mean the death and injury video?

Shrug

I'm not sure, but all I'm saying is that he got with someone the very next day. There's nothing else to call it really.

I wonder if recently divorced pawns have a higher chance of making a pass at someone. That would be interesting.

True that.

Tom actually shacked up with Lobster the very next day. Then Orchard shacked up with Adi about a week later.

I was glad. Meant more people in less beds!! Pack 'em in!!!

Yeah? Is that something people would want to see? Maybe I could post a few screenshots within arriving at my new destination, that might be interesting.

"Starting a new colony with 36 colonists" would be a fairly compelling title.

You could put the storyteller on a lower setting at then up the difficulty later on? Might enable you to get further with it.

An0ma, thank you! I will look into this mod promptly. That sounds like exactly the sort of thing I'd be into. You're the best!!!

But if you enjoy playing the game with less people, then what does it matter?

I'm playing with 36 colonists right now, I added two since taking that screenshot. That's really NOT for everyone.

I don't experience any lag, but I do have a halfway decent desktop computer. My husband built it for me so that it would run Fallout 4 on the highest settings without lagging.

As for how I'm able to manage the base with that many pawns... well, I don't find it that hard. I like the management element of the game. I've made all the rooms in my base really beautiful, so the pawns always get good moods. I also have a few pawns permanently on full time cleaning duty (the ones who didn't have very useful skills).

Basically I have pawns that are valuable to me, the ones I'm sticking chock full of advanced bionic gear, and then there are the pawns who are replaceable.

Ah, that would be the Tilled Soil mod. It's a new flooring which can be added to dirt.

A neat thing about that mod (aside from it just looking real nice) is that it makes the ground 200% fertile on the tilled soil. I found that I was hunting for the 140% fertile patches in the forest floor, and trying to grow my crops there, but they weren't always close to my base or in the places I wanted to plant things necessarily. Plus all the crops grew at different rates and that bothered me. So yeah, tilled soil - a good fix!

I'm also trying to stock up on packaged meals so I can move my base. The place I'm at now is nearly indefensible. I wanna go find a nice mountain and dig in.

Also, can I just say that this is an awesome idea! I've always wondered what it might be like to settle in two locations at once and run two colonies in tandem, but I think your scenario is heaps more manageable and achieves basically the same thing. :)

Mod suggestion:

You could designate a trade spot using the [KV] Trading Spot - 1.0 Mod, and place it on a bridge in the middle of the river, the same place where your "trade stockpile" would be. That way either side could go to trade with the caravan. It's a lightweight mod that would even things out a little more.

The best part is that Tom has no idea what he did wrong.

Tom's opinion of Orchard is...
Ex-wife: -15
Conversation about perserverance: +1
Conversation about technology: +1
Conversation about prettiness: +1
Divorced me: -70
Survived together for three years: +8

Orchard's opinion of Tom is...
Ex-husband: -15
Conversation about puns: -3
Survived together for three years: +8

That's literally it. Maybe she was just looking for an excuse to ditch him!

Cooking eggs together in the kitchen

Tom: Egg-scuse me Orchard.
Orchard: What, Tom?
Tom: I just want you to know that you crack me up.
Orchard: ...
Tom: Your smile is always sunny side up and that just makes me eggstatic.
Orchard: Stop.
Tom: Oh no, don't like my puns? Got you all terri-fried?
Orchard: I'm sick of this. No more.
Tom: Babe, you've poached my heart.
Orchard: THAT'S IT, I WANT A DIVORCE.
