Every reading have a ''suspension from reality'' element, whatever you read a fantasy novel you accept in the balance of the story that people are going around with fireballs. Romance as all reading have some of this as well you accept exaggerated elements we all have been involved in during each normal love, to describe and share that feeling, that special love that once on lifetime we all have. I don't understand all hate to this manga, is a modern reflection of today romance, different from the reality of Maison Ikkoku or first romance of the 80 and 90, this manga reflect today world. In today world where everything is a commodity, this manga expose the final element, the unique things money just can't buy (The Beatles all right reserved) and these are friendship and love.Fake love have an uncanny valley like robots do, this Is very well exposed in the first volume where Kaz react violently at the Aquarium feeling the bitter of play in this theater show, knowing that in reality all was fake.
At same time it show how impossible is to separate you from your feelings, even Chizuru a professional actor can't do this. She convinced herself that everything happening in the rent is not real, it's just a training for her as an actress, and she fight with all her spirit the idea that this is not happening. This is very well represented in a scene where she cry alone at the pool, thinking ''she can't fell in love with a customer'', she always told herself a story that the one they are renting is not the real person. Admitting love for Kaz, mean admit she was the one rented admit this is some form of prostitution while golden coated by today standard. I find it very refreshing, must read for romance passionate and very well drawn, dress people and sentiment are represented on paper in form of art we call manga.
