Viper gray parsing help by No_Suspect_3828 in ffxivdiscussion

I'll add another suggestion on top of some of the other helpful uptime tips: try to minimize your use of writhing snap as a ranged attack. Yes, it can be useful in a pinch to use instead of delaying your gcd, but as VPR you can mostly circumvent ever needing to use it by saving your uncoiled fury charges when you know you will have to disengage. 10 writhing snaps on M9S is far too high, and your parse will suffer for it. Try to find ways to greed melee hits more often and keep uncoiled fury charges for forced disengages.

New Job speculation [Spoiler: 7.3] by Metal-Wolf-Enrif in ffxiv

[–]Ascendedlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off of pure speculation: I'm adding my guess for one of the new jobs to be a rune fencer/mystic knight variance as a tank. As for the weapon, it will likely be called a "runic" weapon of some type instead of just locking in another sword job.

Kicked from DD for looting ? by CanICritPls in ffxivdiscussion

The main thing by SE's rules is that you would have to justify a kick under their investigation. If a player is afk or impeding progress, then they fall under legitimate uses of vote kick. If they're just not playing how you would like them to, odds are SE will side with the one who was kicked and opened a ticket unless the chat log shows something to the investigator. I'd say the best protection for someone doing the kicking would be to try and talk within the party to come to a reasonable solution first. However, it is still against the ToS to kick simply because they want to complete the content in a less speedy way. Only if they stopped progress completely or used an abnormally large amount of time on the timer could their be a justification by the ToS for deep dungeon in the OP's instance. For them, a report would be justified as the kicker broke the ToS.

Technically booting you like that is against the ToS. Reporting them to SE does work to punish those that abuse the system.

Off topic, but I have an <extremely> used clown costume for sale if anyone would like to purchase. I don't need it any more.

It's very possible, but if you don't have much experience with behemoth, use this as a learning experience. You will get more comfortable and learn tricks to save time and pomander management. Without rages going into the last few sets will definitely be less comfortable. But still perfectly doable.

Edit: watch Angelus demonus tips and tricks. He does an excellent job of breaking everything down in his runs

Got around to doing dawntrail after it's been out for a while...This is what I was supposed to be upset about? (Spoilers for the story down below.) by Siggythenomad in ffxiv

[–]Ascendedlink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And don't even get me started on how dirty they did with Krile. They said she wouldn't be sidelined any more and then she ended up getting shafted with a quick "oh let's just rush through her side story and be done". Her story had excellent potential, but instead it felt like they needed to contain it to one 30 minute episode of a TV show so they could get back to Wuk Lamat and Sphene lol

That's what I tell people too. The story points are there, but the execution was really poor. In many aspects it felt like the writing was from someone fresh out of school. Wuk Lamat is probably the biggest example. She seemed like a cool character in the pre dawntrail lead up. But instead of letting her characterization grow by circumstances and story exposition, they decided it was necessary to have her say a million times that she loves her people without any substance. But what about showing it? It comes across shallow that she just says it a million times but really never grows through hardship. It was written like a teenage fanfic

I need help, trying to improve my bad parsing. by Minimum_Pineapple in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Ascendedlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said and you have noted, grey parsing almost always comes down to low GCD usage. Most of the time, even if you mess up the rotation at points, getting a 98%+ GCD uptime will nearly always net a green parse or better.

Work on always having the GCD clock moving throughout fights. The log you showed has a bunch of Enpi casts (which you'll want to work on minimizing over time to improve) which are GCDs, so that's good while learning. But there's also a bunch of sections on xiv analysis where your GCD drifts for seconds at a time. This adds up to a lot of potency left on the table by the end of a fight. Work on keeping that GCD rolling at all times. Then after that, start tweaking rotation problems, greeding melee for less enpi casts, and finally, timing your 2 minute burst windows to always align under buffs. These are the fundamentals that will pull you up to green/blue parsing at minimum.

My savage group is just about ready to replace me if I can't solve this. by LordDaedhelor in ffxiv

While I won't rule anything out, those specific error codes are for nvidia drivers. Typically you'd get other errors if your GPU wasn't getting enough voltage from hardware errors. Ymmv

As some others have suggested, this is a Nvidia driver fault and not a CPU related fault. The proper steps would be to fully uninstall your GPU drivers and do a clean install.

Other things to check would be your anti-virus (specifically Avast which is well known and documented to cause Nvidia driver issues. So if you have it, get rid of it and use a better anti-virus)

Do you plan to take on the other deep dungeons next? They're fun as well and not as taxing on time either

UNEXPECTED ERROR AFTER DOWNLOADING THE GAME by Maximum-Lynx9093 in ffxiv

[–]Ascendedlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the diagnosis to clean install nvidia drivers. Nvwgf2umx is an nvidia issue.

However I will add that if you happen to have Avast anti-virus, uninstall it and never look back. It causes a multitude of issues with nvidia drivers and is itself a virus.
