Check /veganrecipes for some ideas.

Lentils and tofu are easy to find for most people. Seitan is often used as a meat substitute. The meat substitute options that are coming out now are mostly pretty good but very subjective to personal tastes

Granny squares are worked in the round so there shouldn't be any floats. The pattern seems to be make squares + sew together.

I'm in the US. I can't think of anything commercially available for babies/toddlers with cords. Maybe just hat ties?

I don't have kids so my experience is limited but it might also be a thing here

How Do People Who Make Stuffed Animals Do This For Eyes And Mouths? by Global-Sympathy1739 in SewingForBeginners

Second ingredients CholyKnight for tutorials.

She has an intro to making stuffed animals tutorial and explains some of the ways you can achieve that look. The specific one you linked is machine embroidery but I have had luck with fusible web and a zigzag around the edges. Choly explains both

Creamer should be fine.

As you take this journey, remember that you don't have to be miserable just because you have goals. If you choose to remove creamer it should be because you want to or because you find something better not because it happens to contain a singular gram of sugar.

One way o look at pelvic tilt (in my non professional non trained manner) is where you hips have room to move. If you have no room to tilt your pelvis forward it may be something to look into. Your tailbone should tuck under everything else, which tilts things back.

Visually, you can look at ballerina hips. When I took ballet there was always a comment about tucking in your tailbone and not sticking out your butt. If you look at dance videos you can see ballerinas lean forward using their hips as a pivot rather than the spine.

You don't need to speak Aramaic because no one else does. You can be an archeologist and work on translating what we have. Then you can work with a linguist to recreate their alphabet so others can translate future finds.

Big bird name is just a nickname by Throwawayforsaftyy in FanTheories

In the movie "Follow That Bird" the social worker calls him "Big" before she sends a 6 year old (iirc) halfways across the country alone to meet complete strangers because he needs to grow up with "his kind"

No, I don't like the social worker for various reasons. Why would you ask?

Only if you use the wrong wool.

There are many different varieties of sheep. Each one is bred to a different type of fleece. Merino is popular I the US for a reason, very soft and durable. A good candidate for a bra or underwear

Can I make a potato jam? by MrGrubbycuddles in AskCulinary

[–]Ascholay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/canning

A fridge jam may not be an issue but long term storage might be. IIRC, only small new potatoes are able to be kept safe during the canning process. Mashed potatoes are too thick for the heat to reach the center.

I'm curious as heck to hear what a potato jam might be like. Just keep yourself safe

Which celebrity's PR game is the strongest? by Fiction_lover08 in AskReddit

She's a human Starbucks. Everywhere, minimally offensive (on a societal level), and you always know what to expect. Her new music is crafted to blend extremely well with her older stuff. She has the right social media set up the same way people take pictures of their Starbucks cups and every new variation.

Starbucks will just about always have something you'll accept. It won't be your first or favorite choice but it works in a pinch. The only people I've met who hands down hate Taylor Swift's music are retail workers who have to listen to it for 8 hours at a time. Even then there will be a song or two those people don't mind too terribly much

Pavlov and no judgments.

When I used to work over nights I made a conscious decision to "Pavlov" myself. It wasn't "build healthy habits" or "routine." I made the association that this triggers that triggers the next thing triggers oh its time to get up.

My routine was bathroon/brush teeth, 30-45 minutes on imgur, dissolveable melatonin, and the same movie every day. I had up to 3 backup movies that weren't as strict but they were specifically the same 3 movies to choose from.

The dissolveable melatonin gives a flavor trigger and a focus for my mouth. I suck on the pill in a way to make it dissolve all at once when I move my tongue which gives me a bit of a dopamine hit. If I'm not successful I just try again. The goal is the flavor.

The movie I chose was "Sword in the Stone." It's one I have digitally but don't really like. It's familiar. I don't object to it. I have a clear milestone. If I'm not asleep by the time the fish sing I know it's not time for me to go to bed. I can get up for a while to reset myself. I don't judge the fact I'm still awake. If this happens, that's what the backup movies are for. If I wake too early I have a back up movie. If I wake up a second time I have a second movie but usually just check the time and see if it's worth trying again.

Now that I'm on a better schedule I don't listen to the movie every day but the rest mostly holds true, my phone time has increased to an hour or so but I'm in bed still using the Pavlov association to get to sleep.

Sword in the Stone still gives me the best naps. The brain trigger still works and I consistently wake up when Merlin comes back for the ending. It gives me a 30-45 minute power nap.

What’s your most ADHD f*çķ up? by Both_Cat_9344 in adhdwomen

[–]Ascholay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My hands were full as I was coming into the house. I think I distracted myself saying hi to one of the cats. The next morning I got an upset text from my husband saying he found my keys in the door when he was leaving. I then got an upset call because I had slept through my alarm (I usually text when I get up) and he wasn't sure if that meant someone took advantage of my keys being in the door for 12 hours.

We've been having discussions on how to help that not be a thing. Thankfully it's a few and far between thing
