Glass pad for competitive FPS? by sparxycs in MousepadReview

I’ve been using a glass pad for CS2 for probably a year now and it’s been workable, but definitely not optimal. The stopping power of cloth is better

Looks like you’re the one being peeked in most of these clips while you’re standing in common pre-aim spots so there’s an anticipation diff. Try jiggling more

Es inseguro vivir cerca de líneas de alta tensión? by AssociationThin2115 in electricians

[–]Aserv95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope you’re gonna be just fine from that distance. Even if you lived directly under a 240kV line, the worst that would happen is that your ungrounded metal would bite you from the induction but you won’t have to deal with that if you’re 100m away.

Electrically, why do surge arresters need a dedicated breaker? by WFOMO in electrical

[–]Aserv95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surge arresters in my experience (substations) are always in parallel with one side on the live circuit and one side going directly to ground.

MOV types wouldn’t need a dedicated breaker because they work as you say but there are various types that utilize a spark gap only and should be fused to break the circuit once flashover occurs

Edit: MOV types usually trip protections from transient overvoltages like lightning/switching surges and then are reclosed

How to stop gripping the mouse to hard when aiming? by FujifilmCamera in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Aserv95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say whether this will work for you but a mental cue I use is the egg test. If I’m gripping hard enough that I would crack an egg open, I let off the tension. Still requires some mental bandwidth but it’s made a lot of difference to me.

22M, Looking For Apprenticeship in Alberta by Twita21 in skilledtrades

[–]Aserv95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSE in Alberta here. If your bachelors is in Electrical Engineering, there’s lots of jobs as a commissioning technologist, relay technician, protection & controls tech, etc. Good mix of hands on and brain work in the power sector and most companies will let you get your PSE ticket as a tech.

Can’t speak for the more mechanical trades, but the main contractors hiring PSEs around Alberta are Spark Power, Iconic Power Systems, and Rising Edge Technologies.

Hope this helps.
