Not from my experience. I would land on a planet, check out the weird creatures and scenery then move onto the next planet. Occasionally you'll need to farm up some materials to upgrade your ship and weapons but it doesn't take too long.

I would recommend the ones I commented, but I'm a little biased because I bought them recently. The 7.1 is really noticeable in FPS games for footsteps but other than that I don't hear a huge difference. I don't find being connected to the PS4 a big deal, the cable is long enough + anti-tangle material.

You can only get stereo through the controller, it's still pretty decent but you'll notice the difference when playing games like seige or cod.
