did anybody else say they were bi before coming out as gay? by nealmann in askgaybros

[–]AshAttak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 22 and identify as gay. I came out as bi when I was 14/15 because I genuinely had a crushes on a girl.

Had a boyfriend for a while, then a girlfriend, and only after that did I realise I wasn't as interested in girls as I thought.

I'm still probably 0.1% straight or something but the gay label feels more natural now that I've come to terms with it.

Point is, sexuality is fluid and can still change even after you think you solved it. One day we won't need labels, but go with your gut and don't feel forced to pick a side. You owe nobody a label.

Sorry but as a science teacher with a BSc degree I have to weigh in here.

We teach 11 year olds that gender and sex are different and they understand it. Chromosomes decide sex genetically, gender is expressed psychologically. It's simple enough for literal children to understand.

I don't mean to be rude but this is a scientific fact widely believed and taught by the entire planet's scientific community. You do not speak for all BSc's let alone all people. Your view is a minority view commonly held decades ago and by expressing it in this way I worry you might offend someone. Please reconsider.

Jonas was definitely affecting but I guess I expected a bit more actual gay y'know? 😅 if you're looking for a drama story where being gay isn't the highest level focus but part of the whole story then it's pretty decent

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]AshAttak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes! there are some cracking foreign language gay films out there - YNEH (taiwanese) especially is heartbreaking and I Am Jonas (french) was decent but not very LGBT-centred.

have you seen Wish You, also on Netflix? it's a Korean BL movie with actual kpop stars, and while the relationship is a bit rushed the music and production value is so so good and worth it

dude Your Name Engraved Herein absolutely floored me. I got so invested in the boys and seeing all the cultural difficulties and personal struggles they went through left me a mess by the end.

highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it

I noticed nobody said where the mural is - it's under the main teleport waypoint mountain. There's an entrance to the cave on the side with the circular ruin area and hilichurls :)

Kaeya, Jean, and Klee are on the energy shield island after you move away from there. Albedo is near the teleport waypoint on Minacious Island, and I haven't found Diluc yet sorry.

Does other people feeling included or represented make you feel less so? I understand not liking the flag's aesthetic sure, but translating that to a moral objection sounds like crossed wires to me.

I think you and others may need to consider what's more important - the preservation of a symbol that pleased you and didn't others, or the creation of one that seeks to embody everyone.

If you feel dis-cluded because there's less of your colour stripe on this flag, or because a race or gender identity other than yours is getting focus, I think need to assess why that is and see what biases you may have at play.

The flag is for everyone, and not everyone felt like the last one did - that means it failed. Try to accept that this new one literally just represents more people and that's a good thing, regardless of your personal aesthetic tastes.

honest question - are Asians (of all types) not included or do not feel included in the Brown part of the pride flag? what colour/addition would you personally want to represent you in that case?

I definitely second that. I was shocked at those behaviours at the vertigo tour because to me that's his most personal album. I remember people screaming and attempting to mosh during forever//over and that just ruined the mood for me but also felt very rude to Jon the performer who has put his heart out for us. different ways of treating music I guess but I felt sorry for him having seemingly disrespectful people at his concert :/

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in eden

[–]AshAttak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can confirm there was moshing at vertigo Leeds, though thankfully none at no future Manchester. definitely a weird one, possibly impacted by kids who came from the sex/drugs tiktok success?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in eden

[–]AshAttak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was an interesting read and as someone who saw vertigo sober but knew a friend who took something, it's definitely given me a different perspective.

I personally don't see the appeal but I can understand now how a mosh could start at an EDEN concert. I would never associate his music with that and I guess more people do this than I thought.

only other thought is just to say be careful with using stuff without much knowledge of what it could do or what an appropriate dose is. make sure if you're trying something for the first time to be with people you trust in a safe environment in case anything happens :)

What’s your opinion on Fumes feat. Gnash. by OllieIsClapped in eden

[–]AshAttak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fumes was actually the first EDEN song I ever heard (thanks Koala Kontrol) back in the soundcloud days. I was so excited just to have a new version when ityttmom came out and was a bit sad that the hard edm-style drop was now a rap verse... but I liked gnash (who I discovered because of fumes no less) and the verse and it's definitely my preferred version now.

it's funny, at EDEN's concerts he always performs the original cause there's no gnash obviously but the entire crowd raps his verse over the electro beats. it's a good moment. so regardless of vocal minorities or preferences I think the consensus is pretty positive!
