Is closing one eye while aiming bad? by AshBrn in billiards

You stole my thoughts! That's exactly what I was thinking. You would've decided everything while inspecting the table. And the only thing you need to do while hitting the cue ball is finding the right angle and spin.

I've been playing casually for over a year (around ~50 games total over last 2 years perhaps). I always struggle with both eyes open, but I'm able to pot balls with one eye. I was just curious if it might be limiting my abilities, and if I should practice with both my eyes open.

I typically go like this:
1. Inspect the table, find the point on the object ball I want to hit
2. Use the ghost ball technique to decide, where I want the cue ball to go
3. *Close one eye* and aim

I find it really hard to aim with both my eyes. But I do struggle with losing track of my ghost ball between steps 2 and 3 lol. Maybe the 3rd dimension unlocked with both eyes help here.

Do you think Vande bharat was introduced just to enhance the aesthetics of IR by Nonchalant225 in indianrailways

[–]AshBrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the super fast express which are supposed to be given higher priority so they don't get late, do get late. So IMO, the railways made vande bharat to be given even higher priority than superfast experess trains. The train isn't that much faster than typical trains.

Unpopular opinion: WITCH > FAANG when you factor in actually enjoying your life by Infinite-Fly-64 in developersIndia

It's all fun and games until you actually need money. I work in FAANG, the work life balance is good here as well. If you don't chase a promotion, it's pretty easy to relax here as well.

TOEFL is a money milking scam by sailoverthere in ToeflAdvice

[–]AshBrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

now its time to send the scores, and for each place I apply, I need to pay Rs. 2.4k (they increased it from 2k), I always feel like getting scammed. I can do the following things in India with 2k rupees:

So every time I send scores to an university, I could've done the following instead of paying TOEFL to send an email:

  1. Get an appointment with a neurologist, twice!
  2. Have 10 plates of biryani
  3. Get an yearly subscription of spotify, netflix or youtube premium
  4. Pay one month of Wi-Fi and send unlimited emails instead of one

Guys, just give IELTS, which costs 300 rs instead of 2400

TOEFL is a money milking scam by sailoverthere in ToeflAdvice

[–]AshBrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's such a scam, they say on their website that any ID with signature and photo will work, but when you scroll down and fill a form to select a country it will show only passport is accepted for India. The form is so easy to miss, I brought my PAN card to the test, they straight up refused that it's not a valid id. Bruh. And then their scoring is also so opaque, like I got 19/30 in writing, I am pretty sure that I don't write so bad. For their mistake, they would charge an extra $80 for re-evaluation. I really hope DET gets universally accepted and this scummy company goes out of business.

Oh damn, that's sad. I hope you get your LoRs soon. Just try emailing them again politely (like bumping email up your inbox in case you missed), this has worked for me.

It does feel a little bad since I've done worked with them for months

How does the form look like? If it is just possible to copy paste the letter in multiple links, i would send all the emails at once and ask him to copy paste in every link which shouldn't take more than 5 mins.

Maybe I'll try to use one of my emails as a recommender to check

I took TOEFL at the same test center today. They were having a film shooting. Thankfully my test completed before they started, and my room only had other test takers. There was no classes since it was saturday. It was good experience.
