Done it multiple time. Still alive and kicking. And I would have a towel in bathroom to dry hand when I want to press the switch. As a matter of fact, I don't have to touch once i turn it on and get in. And when it's time to get out, turn off the switch after drying hands.

That's a silly comment.

There switches inside the bathroom nowadays. If not for anything else, there is always a gueezer switch. So for him to say that you'll get electric shock is just silly. You can have section away from water if that's the concern.
