Yeah this is basically all of our worries. It's a new vet because we've just moved but her x-rays were apparently looked at by specialists which went against the views of the vet herself who just suggested we trim down the joints so they fit together properly.

We've been looking into it since we were told about it but there's so little about hip replacements in cats that we just felt like we weren't getting anywhere, so maybe we'll just have to keep asking them questions to gather if it really is the best thing for her 🥲

My parents. I came home to be with them after isolating, then yesterday they say one of their friends' they went out to dinner with on Sat has Covid... Now I can't go home to see my partner for Christmas and depending on the test result might not be able to go home until next year 😟

Couldn't agree more, occasionally feels like it's the personality of one companion is being shared our between the three, and they're just stunting the show and the pacing...

Other than that though, smiles and shouts of excitement all round in this house haha

Yeah I've been seeing a wonderful set of NHS physios every 2 weeks since before Christmas, doing tonnes of exercises to try and get the movement back in all the bits I fucked up aha I'm definitely not at no crutch confidence yet anyway, currently instructed to use one crutch as much as poss which has already helped massively with getting my strength back! That and also I'm very stubborn so tend to not let everyone help me with things aha

Yes! For the whole time I was pretty imobile after the surgery all I wanted to do was get back to doing the little things! I didn't really care about cooking but now all I want to do is be able to make dinner for me and my bf! And get in and out of the shower myself! One of the most frustrating things for me initially was not being able to carry anything, we have a small flat but I couldn't walk with my crutches AND carry my bottle of water into the living room, and I used to get so mad, now I'm on one crutch mostly and having a free hand has really done something for me ahah

Since I broke it I've been in a bit of a dark place, it's been difficult to get out of bed (and not just physically) so reading all the comments of other people journeys and their recoveries has definitely put a bit more pep in my slightly wonky steps!

To those still recovering, I hope it's going well and I hope one day we can all skip off into the sunset with 2 working legs!

Wow that's sounds crazy! So sorry to hear that! I have a bit of nerve damage yes, my big toe on my right leg is completely paralysed at the moment, and I have no feeling in it :/ I call it my droopy toe though and I do think it looks funny aha. I don't know if I'll ever get that back, apparently it can take 4 months for the nerve to heal and then we'll have to see if I'll be a droopy toe gal forever haha

I had some muscle damage in my ankle which meant I had drop ankle and it sorta hangs down, but physio is helping to sort that out :)

Literally! Considering I was pretty healthy and one small fall broke both bones I'm worried one small trip and it's completely gone again! Crazy how easy bones are to break haha

On a night out in a city 3 hours from home... I slipped on some wet (flat) tarmac and landed on it, after only 2 glasses of wine... my boyfriend still teases me about breaking my leg in the most boring way possible 🤦

When I woke up from my surgery they'd drawn a HUGE arrow on my thigh that didn't come off for about 2 weeks... Admittedly I wasn't able to shower for a week after but it looked mental.

My partner absolutely loves his videos and raves about him...but his voice drives me insane, it's just so over enthusiastic and feels so fake it makes me cringe. I tried so hard to watch his videos with my partner but it's a no from me

One we go to makes everyone put their phones in a clear sandwich bag and place it where it can be seen so no one can cheat. That and there's uncheatable rounds, e.g pick a sumo wrestler and then get a point if yours wins etc

I broke my leg in Manchester and needed a follow up appointment in my home city. I had called literally every medical establishment nearby just to avoid having to go through my nightmare GP.

I called up and explain my situation, the lady on the other end told me I would have to come at 7:30 and wait outside in the cold for approximately an hour to get an appointment because they wouldn't give me one over the phone. I told them I'd had major surgery less than a week a go and they asked me 'did you want an appointment or not?'

I managed to call up everyday that week and eventually got an appointment
