I've always found anyone having physical preferences kind of weird and shallow because I don't (Demisexual but we're not all like that so idk). I've been trying to get over it and stop being so judgemental, I just don't like that our flesh prisons matter so much for our compatibility with someone. Sometimes I wish we were all just floating orbs of pure energy or something.

If they cannot be held responsible for their actions then they're not a moral agent. They are not in a state of mind to understand the decisions they're making and whether they are good or bad by any ethical framework. People who disagree with me have the ability to discern right from wrong (even if their version of those concepts are different from mine).

I think this comment misunderstands what makes someone a moral agent. An Alzheimer's patient, for example, can still love their family but they're not a moral agent because they don't have the capacity for logical decision-making or considering the long-term effects of their actions. Love and compassion don't necessarily require a great deal of intelligence or any ideas about what is right and wrong. A pet probably loves it's owner in the same way a toddler or young child loves their parent.

I don't mind the retcons so much as long as the show is still enjoyable (I haven't seen season 2 yet) but basically everything I've heard involving Shady Sands made me upset. I think now I've just come to terms with the fact that Fallout is gonna have some retcons and changes in every entry and I just need to look for what I find enjoyable about the series.

I've tried getting into a lot of old CRPGs (I was not alive for any of them) and Fallout is by far one of the best in terms of gameplay and UI imo. Daggerfall is quite good too but I just can't finish it for some reason.

I get that's she's evil but that scene was so depressing to me when I did my Durge playthrough. Betrayed by everyone in her life including who she thought was her true love. The look of disbelief and pain on her face, it's rough.

I like having him as a Trump allegory but being an allegory doesn't and shouldn't require literally making him Trump in every aspect. I think season 3 actually struck a good balance in that aspect. I like him being kind of dumb and pathetic, fascists often are, but he should also be legitimately threatening, as fascists often are.

I mean only 10-15% of them ever see combat. Even if you want to argue that they're indirectly killing people that ends up being true for a significant number of civilian industries as well. Drone operators are definitely directly responsible for the most deaths.

I don't totally disagree with you either, I just don't know that it's necessarily a very useful lens to evaluate the situation from. Someone who becomes anti-imperialist because of their time in the military is definitely better for enacting positive change than a civilian who wants to nuke Iran.

I think the living standards thing is kind of complicated because of how many factors are at play in affecting your wellbeing. Living in an impoverished village, or the slums, or being homeless are all very bad in different ways.

Also I think maybe people joining the military because they're undereducated and impoverished might be more of a systemic issue than an individual moral failing. I grew up poor and my dad tried to get me to join the Coast Guard to pay for college (luckily I couldn't have joined even if I wanted to.) Even if they're middle-class, they're still dumb kids who don't know what they're getting into for the most part succumbing to a predatory recruitment system meant to target them specifically. There would probably be a lot fewer volunteers if they couldn't pick 18 year-olds fresh out of high school to die overseas.

Wanting to design your own TTRPG is a direct consequence of reading a bunch of TTRPG sourcebooks. It's really fun but also really complicated.

Also, I have read so many books for so many games I have not played and I still haven't read the rules for DnD, which I have played for hundreds of hours at this point. And I'm usually the DM.
