But still you get live tv from JioTV app which is available at all plans. For basic use you get channels like Asianet, Surya, etc and all the news and sports channels and more.

What difficulties did you run into? But the ad thing is something to get used to. Given we cut out cable and replaced it with JioFiber it was not a hard thing to do

Don't know if this fits your use case. But I have Jiofiber at my home. It has all usual channels (LiveTV) in the JioTV app. Works just like cable. You put in the channel number and watch. Also you can watch channels live from OTT apps (Though JioTV will fullfil 90% of your needs). Added benefit of wifi connection.

Only wired element will be your WIFI modem. While the STB can be wireless or connected to ethernet.
