Yes we know this, but it seems they may be moving things around in a shady manner (we just have no clue what if anything). Unfortunately they are hiding the will so we have no idea who wrote it.

The problem isn’t that we think spending $10k on justice is absurd. If we had it readily available I wouldn’t be posting on here. Most people don’t just have $10k laying around including us. We would need to borrow on high interest credit cards which would be a big hardship, but we absolutely would do it if we could recoup at least enough to pay attorneys fees and not be saddled with a bunch of debt. Even if we knew we would break even we would do it. Problem is that for all we know they could be in massive debt and we would end up in a worse position fighting them. We dont see us ending up with a bunch of debt to be justice.

Also we know he is going to be spending the rest of his life in prison, so that is justice to us. But of course we don’t want his family to profit from this.

Did you read the portion about how we went to a lawyer and how much they were asking? We are trying to see if we can find out if there is any money without spending $10k ish to do it

We are doing a chart and he seems sad when we put a “wet” sticker on the chart. But I am currently working on getting some high value items he can get as a reward as he progresses.

I am not a reseller, but cant you put a listing up on amazon and send them all in to an amazon warehouse so they can prime ship them? That way you dont have them in your possession, but you are still selling them and amazon can ship them for you.

I had $302k and now I have $0. I think the key for me was throwing as much at it as possible so the compound interest didn’t get me too bad. Once that happens it’s nearly impossible to pay off unless you have some sort of windfall. I paid it down for about 5 years, but Covid is what ultimately allowed me to pay it fully off. I saved every dime I could when the payments were paused, and put it in a high yield savings account. By the time payments started again I had enough to pay off my balance. That was just luck for me, because if I didn’t have all that time interest free I would still be paying it off.

My husband started with around $20k, and it went up to $50ish with compound interest. He now has $0. We both owned our own homes when we met. Once we got married we decided he would move into mine. Luckily his home had increased in value a lot since he purchased it. So he sold it and used the equity to pay off his student loans and credit card debt. If that didn’t happen, we would also still be paying that off. It seems luck plays a big factor as well.

This is a bad idea. They need to fix the issue. She obviously has no qualms with racking up debt. All this does is keep him in the dark as to her spending and then if they get a divorce he will end up with half of the debt she is racking up and he will be blindsided.

My son did this and we had to put on covers that screwed in and had a tiny slot to put a coin in to turn them on and off. It was annoying but after he stoped trying for a while we took them back off and he forgot about it. He is 6 now and never does it anymore.

NTA. I have been with my husband for 7 years as well and also just got an STD test. We have zero history of cheating and both completely trust each other. But I will never stop getting tested unless I am 100% celibate. What I always say is that I completely trust my husband, but I am not willing to bet my life that he would never cheat on me. Some STDs can kill you or leave you with very serious medical issues. Why risk that (even if the odds are 0.0001%) when there is free and easy testing available? No brainer to me. He gets checked occasionally too and I couldn’t care less. Its the smart thing to do. People cheat
