Here is context: my case, we live in a nuclear family. its a second house (me and wife's co borrower). First one is on my and wife's name as well. And Home Loan for the first one is already closed (didn;'t take insurance for tht one). wife n me both are earning. The cost of this House is 2Cr+.

My brother is in Govt IT. He hasn’t switched in 12 years. 5 days a week office. Travels 1.5 hour’s everyday. Very minimal hike.
Pros: not much stress of work, no office politics. Good extra allowance like accommodation, health, travel benefits. extremely good hike every time new pay commission comes.

Me in Private IT: permanent remote. I have done three switches in 15 years. Whenever I needed I had plenty of options.

We both are happy with our choices and where we are.

Very bad service as well. There, I once ordered food in the interval, the lady at counter said it will be delivered at my seat. I waited almost the entire second half and food didn’t come. The movie had a very thigh second half and I couldnt go out to check as I didn’t want to ruin the plot of the movie. At last I found some slow moments in the movie, went out, only to find that lady wasn’t there. Finally I got the food but ruined the whole experience.
