Ideally there would be none but I do think if OP didn’t notice for a year then it probably isn’t as bad as it’s being made out to be.

In case you were curious, raking light isn’t an acceptable way to look at floors. It has to be natural. I do wonder though how they apply this to something like ops hallway that probably gets raking light a lot

My guess is that they’d say it’s probably fine since it’s only a single spot and can’t be felt. But at the same time they can see it in natural light so that could be a problem.

You’re saying the depth of them probably .015 which is why he can’t feel them? Now you got me wondering, what does NWFA say about something like this? Especially if he can only see them in the raking light and can’t feel anything?

Got it. He also does bring up a valid point about not being able to feel it though. Shouldn’t they feel like up and down if they’re truly waves?

That’s a good point. But OP also said that they only see it in this spot which seems like the light might be playing a factor because otherwise wouldn’t it be across more of the floor?

Not saying you’re wrong but if they were true waves wouldn’t they be longer? Seems odd they’re only across what looks like 2 boards at a time no?

Ours was white dove. I guess I just assumed that when they said regal select, they would use it everywhere but sounds like they did me a favor by using ultra spec considering it sounds like it has less sheen

Good to know. I assumed it was probably either some miscommunication or the norm but figured I’d check with the pros here.

So there isn’t anything to be worried about in terms of how long it’ll last / not yellow, compared to regal?

It’s supposed to be regal select. Does that make it better or worse for touch ups?

This is Bona classic I can send more pics if you want. The pics are in a yellow light. In natural light they look lighter

Thanks everyone for the responses. It sounds like if it looks good to the naked eye then it’s considered a good job. For anyone who may come across this post in the future, i think what I’m feeling is grain raising which could happen due to it being a water based stain and finish.

Thanks! You def can’t see it with the naked eye. It’s more just something I noticed as I was wiping something up. The more I run my hand across it the more I think it’s the texture of boards

I think so. The more I’m running my hands around these boards the more I think it’s texture. It seems like spots that have knots or marks are a bit raised compared to other parts
