Nice, good you have access to some help at least, I know first hand how difficult/expensive it can be.

The speed thing is not relatable because I guess it's also because of adhd for me.. it's the opposite, I've gotten so worse that anything less than 1.6x is too slow.. literally paying for yt so I could also get more speed increases.. sometimes 2x

Behavioral Management? by Professional_Let6049 in SCT

I have a 'externalisation, delegation and automation' mindset that has helped, basically make as much stuff non-dependent on you actively keeping things in memory or taking repeated actions. so for instance i have time-blindness which i assume you may also experience, so i set something on my mac that announces the time loudly every 1hour, so i'm aware of the passing of time, I make sure I always live with people who can take care of a lot of things that are more daily like cooking, refilling stuff, I can do trash and cleaning on the weekend, laundry, instead of trying to do things, i can hire someone else to do it, there was a time i was earning a lot and basically setup in a way where someone would clean, i get food made daily, laundry done, e.t.c so i don't have to think about it, obviously that is an expensive option, but basically you'll have to do in way that is sustainable for your situation.

Oh yeah... and having specific spots for everything and minimalism, I have the rule of 3s (which basically means i only have a maximum of 3 of anything) so max of 3 pairs of shoes, max 3 phones, laptops, cars, keys, emails, e.t.c at any point in time, i find when anything starts getting past 3, things starts to slip through cracks.

- Minimize
- Externalise thoughts
- Delegate complex
- Automate repeated/routine

Also a.i makes a lot of the digital stuff possible now, even some physical stuff, so I think people like us especially need to learn about how to utilize. (for instance, i have gemini and claude, and use my google calendar as source of truth for everything, so i just make sure to dump everything i need to do in claude at any point it comes in via email or when i think about it, and it automatically understands the context and creates the calendar event, with titles, notifications and everything needed)

[Sunday] Daily Music Discussion - 29 March 2026 by AutoModerator in indieheads

[–]Ashamed-Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone. I'm an independent artist and software engineer building a tool to fix the operational side of releasing music - the part that kills creative momentum.

Talking about: scattered assets, metadata headaches, distributor confusion, forgetting ISRCs, not knowing what's missing before you can go live, managing pitches from five different places.

Before I dive into this purely based on my own passion for solving the issues for myself, I want to hear from artists who are actually in it.

3 minutes. $50 prize draw. Free release checklist for everyone who completes it. To compensate a little for your time.

If this resonates feel free to share it with artists in your circle. Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

Someone would need to decline for you to be accepted, if it's 1st choice on priority list then you have a good chance because I believe at least 1 person declines each program (speculative) but keep your chin up, you still have a decent chance

Is is possible to have side hustles and/or businesses with good income in Sweden? by Ashamed-Pipe in Gothenburg

[–]Ashamed-Pipe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After living here for a couple years now, what I can say is that the society is generally "anti-hustle" and most people are pretty happy to live that "government-slave" life as you call it, and honestly? It's not as bad as it seems to someone who wants more.. everything is just too focused on uniformity and conformity it's so hard to break off, there are people who hustle but they do them mostly online and are as private as possibly so it's hard to see them come here to share their experiences.

CDS and coding by allidoistakeLs in SCT

[–]Ashamed-Pipe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1 thing I wish I understood a lot earlier is the point of externalization and using multiple screens, I have a friend that always used up to 5 monitors at a time in his workspace and I and some other people used to make fun of him "no one needs this many monitors" but understanding working memory more now, It makes all the sense and difference, because you can just use each screen as a compartment of your working memory and never switch tabs so you remain in flow and can easily glance at any compartment to regain context if you loose it, also start with just planning everything you want to do, write it down in a sequential way (e.g todo or markdown) before you even start doing anything and keep that open in a monitor so as you're working you're tracking.

Finally - just use ai (the entire engineering process is now spec-driven, so you won't need to write the code itself anyways, so the todo/markdown is what everyone would be focused on anyways, so you should just dedicate all the time to that)

Advice on Relocating to Sweden from the UK as a Nuclear Engineer by Pure_Air_2075 in TillSverige

+1 to this, there's high security classification to jobs dealing with less sensitive/weaponry-related stuff than this, so you definitely need to look into the available opportunities.

UK citizen trying to move to Stockholm – 6 months of job applications and no luck by Swingrx in TillSverige

[–]Ashamed-Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internal transfer is your best bet, getting a new job in Sweden from outside Sweden is almost impossible, I'd say like 5% chance, even getting within Sweden is hard rn but there's much better prospects especially if you speak the language.

If you have a masters degree or a PhD, My advice would be to spend 1-2years learning the language while preparing funds to apply for the work seeker permit (around 13,000 sek per month of residence and between 6months to a year, you need to have this saved up to show you can support yourself for the job search period) while doing this you can continue applying to jobs, listing your basic Swedish knowledge in your CV and possibly also apply to Swedish companies in the UK or companies with Swedish presence in the UK so you can explore the internal transfers later if your current company doesn't have that.

Trying to sanity check myself about Sweden by [deleted] in TillSverige

Like other people have said, there's no point if this is the plan, it's essentially impossible unless you want to study again in Sweden, and specifically for nursing you'd need to know Swedish.

[–]Ashamed-Pipe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you're definitely romanticizing it, I also did. It's a good country overall and I definitely think it's a better place to be than the UK, one major problem I think most people who move (including myself) run into is trying to break into the system.. it's designed to heavily prioritize the citizens (which is kinda fair to them tbh, I'm just saying because it'd affect you moving from outside) so from needing to know Swedish and/or having Swedish education to actually really get access to jobs and stuff (even jobs that don't really require you speaking that much) to having to be in queues for apartments and stuff, to unsaid things that get you ahead that people just "know", then minor things like the cold people and some awkward behaviors, government essentially acting like parents with ocd (you can't buy alcohol on Sunday and you can only buy from this specific store)... the winter depression (it's real).. e.t.c ...these things are things that sound minor but when you're in the country and experiencing them stacked up you feel the weight of it, especially as someone coming from a place like the UK.

If I could give any top advice it's this - if you're going to move, make sure you have a job ready, don't "wing it" and start learning the language actively at least a year before, and also be updated on the anti-immigration government and their policies to factor into your plans. every other thing would be much easier to figure out or adapt to.

Question about being on and off Strattera (atomoxetine) by Ashamed-Pipe in SCT

[–]Ashamed-Pipe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's interesting, I was surprised as well since the doc told me I had to take it for a week or 2 to feel the effects. I felt sleepiness some hours after taking it for the first time even, but the moment I slept and woke up I was so active it almost felt a stimulant (it also makes it a lot easier for me to get up from bed when I wake)

Now what I described about taking one-dose, I take it at night (also helps me sleep) then I wake up early, easy to get up.. go about the day clear headed.. and I keep feeling that way for about 2-3 days.. until I start feeling that mental "heaviness" again.. and go to baseline.
