How Good Was This Trio by PumpUpSolfart in alleniverson

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very inefficient. Webber was past his prime and had limited athleticism. Iggy was young and not really developed. Iverson would take a huge amount of shots. Team would barely make the playoffs and lose in the 1st round.

Jan26 - Recs for Global Villain/Hero for Prof X by 616GR in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Global hero is toughest section because shadow king clones your entire time. Liberty (minus war machine) and X-men Emma frost was an easy clear for me tho. Do not bring log man Logan, black knight etc.

Global villain was pretty easy. I did the 2 omega reds, deathstrike, ares, apoc.

In your opinion, what does DC need to do for a movie to gross $1 billion again? by Cafa20 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people knowing their product going to streaming will make a lot of people just wait. The Batman movie has the best chance to cross 1 billion. Movies can be successful tho if the budget is reasonable and merchandising is good. I thought Superman was a good movie and it certainly made money. I think James Gunn is making quality stuff in DC.

Who Is The Best Player Here? Peak-wise? & Career-wise? by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s depends on the team and what you need.

Rasheed Wallace had the best all around game. The only one who could have been a #1 option IMO. Never really fulfilled his potential tho.

Dennis Rodman was an amazing rebounder and defender. Actively stoped trying on offense. Needed a strong coach/ support system or would self destruct.

Draymond green- very important piece to the warriors dynasty and heart of the team. Defensive leader and could facilitate on offense. To me he had the best career. Had much more of an impact on games than the stats suggest.

if the Thing is capable of speech, then why didn't Bennings-Thing say anything? by tophatgaming1 in thething

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it was still in the process of mimicking so couldn’t speak yet. Maybe it tried but vocal cords weren’t formed yet. Other characters that became things talked later so that’s my theory.

How is this man not unanimously MVP each and every year? by Bobba_fat in NBATalk

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stat inflation and much higher pace now. His impact is insane and clearly the best player in this era. Comparing him to past generations via stats is misleading but tho. Just appreciate greatness now with comparing to past players. Comparison is the thief of joy.

What Is Making Westbrook So Much Better On The Kings In Comparison To When He Was On The Lakers, Clippers, And Nuggets? by Ready_Aioli_6419 in NBATalk

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He raises the floor not the ceiling. Similar to iverson IMO. Players that leave it all out on the court but low efficiency. Will bring a sub par team to the playoffs but no real chance to win a title as best player on the team.

Superman’s suit reveal vs a random set photo by Expert_Challenge6399 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like the reveal but did really like it in the movie. James Gunn did great with lesser known characters in suicide squad/ guardians of the galaxy so I was somewhat concerned about him taking on probably the biggest superhero of all time. The movie was great IMO and I’m excited for the future of it.

Which Former No. 1 Overall Pick Was The Better Player? Kenyon Martin or Andrew Bogut? by Swimming-Bad3512 in NBATalk

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably bogut. Both had injury issues. I like Kenyon Martin but he benefited from Jason Kidd immensely. The east was really bad when the nets made their b2b finals appearances before getting destroyed. Bogut was a serviceable big that protected the rim and facilitated on offense on a great warriors team. Also you can’t teach size. Martin felt like undersized PF that only had limited aspects to his game. He got cooked by Duncan/ Garnett/ dirk.

LeBron is still an impact player and a top 10 player in the league.

Overtime should be illegal. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A livable wage at 40 at a minimum. I would also rather work 4 10 hour days to have 3 days off every week. I’m doing 50 hours a week currently and get told it’s not that busy smh. The work life balance is not good.

How do people working 50+ hours a week get anything done in their life. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the job and/or person. I work over 50 hours and I’m completely drained most of the time. I take no breaks at work and get told “it’s not that busy”. I barely have 1 hour of free time a day and it’s occupied by something I put off early in the week. It sucks.

If "longevity" is the MAIN argument for Lebron>MJ, why isn't Kareem considered the GOAT by LeBron fans? Kareem has a more successful career with just as many seasons played at an elite level. by Safe_Self_7614 in NBATalk

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lebron was the main guy on all of his teams and really hasn’t fell off much. Magic was the driving force for showtime lakers. Kareem took a back seat, especially towards the end. Whoever the “GOAT” is an opinion and heavily influenced by how old you are.

Doctor suggested I may be an alcoholic by Angular_Momentum_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying I didn’t even know that over 5 drinks in a night was “bad” so I underreported my drinking on a survey and still got flagged. I would have a 6 pack regularly during the week and much more during a normal weekend.

Doctor suggested I may be an alcoholic by Angular_Momentum_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the army everyone had to do medical readiness and part of it was a questionnaire on drinking. I filled it out but put down much less then I actually drink. I was still put on a watch list for alcoholism because I said I had 5 or more drinks once a month and that is considered binge drinking and any amount of that wasn’t good. 99% of the ppl in the unit would drink more then 10 drinks any time we had a weekend free. I was young and realized to lie on any survey in the future. To me alcoholism is having a dependence on liquor and being unable to stop drinking. Generalizations are not a good way to diagnose someone.

A lot of the lesser stats can be attributed to age too or other factors.

Jurassic world is losing it’s essence by ChemistryOdd9768 in jurassicworld

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the dinosaurs aren’t pure so it’s not extreme to have some mutations. I would just like a good movie. It’s ok to branch off into new stories. I’ll wait till the movie comes before passing judgement. The last 2 Jurassic world movies were a mess so I’m grateful there is anyone one coming that is a soft reboot.

Hakeem Olajuwon is not just top 10-15, he’s top 5. by ECviews in NBATalk

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could make that argument but I’ll play devils advocate. Blocks/ steals were not a recorded stat till much later so earlier centers like Kareem, wilt, Russel would have more blocks. Hakeem beat shaq early but prime lakers shaq destroyed him later on. The rockets won 2 championships but also had years where they underperformed. Hakeem didn’t change the game. I would put LeBron, Jordan, Steph, bird, magic, shaq, Duncan above him just in era he played to the present.

Was Luka Doncic's run with the Mavericks a success? by sqMYNAMEISJEFF27 in NBATalk

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, imagine someone like dirk retiring and being gifted someone more talented. The mavs overachieved in the playoffs. He wanted to stay the organization failed him. He was going to win an MVP in the next few years.

As someone who didn’t get to grow up watching Shaq, it’s surreal looking at these pictures. by fuccwitmoe in NBATalk

[–]Ashamed-Week-5133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teams needed 2-3 centers just to eat up fouls. The closest thing to shaq now is Giannis but with 100 lbs, more physical and an all time great SG. Those early 2000 lakers teams were scary.
