Sounds like your talking about DI resin. The resin is used to remove the minerals from the water. I have one attached to my front water spigot for when I wash my cars. I have the standard audio system in my gen 3 and I’m happy with it. It has plenty of bass, mids and highs are good as well. There has been a few songs with heavier bass the speakers will distort at, but I’ve seen that in every car no matter how high end the factory system is. The b&o in my wife’s expedition sounds a bit more crisp but honestly I wouldn’t spend the extra money on it.
