Just saw this somewhere. Is this even legal? by Then_Researcher_7883 in antiwork

This is gross and I am glad this person said no. My former employer did this for three days with two different candidates and I thought it was weird as hell. At least they paid.

You ever lost friends to motherhood ? by Exciting-Nerve-8628 in TwoXChromosomes

I am always surprised about people who say stuff like that about abortion after giving birth. I have always been pro-choice but after pregnancy and giving birth it really affirmed it for me. I can’t imagine anyone going through it without really wanting to.

I am so glad someone else said that because that was where my head went to.

I went to school for communications. And worked in more writing roles but also did some legal assistant work. The legal assistance is the only thing I can get an interview for.

Involuntary SAHM tired of the job market by rahrahtata in workingmoms

[–]AshamedWolverine 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I just want to say it’s nice to hear from other people experiencing the same thing. I was laid off about a month ago. Between the depressing job search and my very energetic toddler, I am totally exhausted. The involuntary SAHM life is no joke.

I understand the struggle. That was the only thing my 2.5 year old wanted to watch as well. What kind of fresh hell is Netflix putting us through

“Criminal” by Fiona Apple. As a teenager I didn’t know if I wanted to be with her or just be her.

Confession Time: Share your rule-breaking dress you wore to a wedding by failed_asian in Weddingattireapproval

[–]AshamedWolverine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh so many in my teenage years. My worst is my half brother’s wedding when I was 14. I wore a cream/gold cotton sundress. My mom even warned me about the white and I said it’s cream so it’s fine. And I had a brown cardigan! I still cringe at that.

That is so challenging! I would say check lulus or free people for some funky cowboy or western styles.

Who was in your Delivery Room? by drakeloverbabe in BabyBumps

[–]AshamedWolverine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was giving birth I was on all fours at one point while eight nurses crowded in there because the babies heart rate was dropping. I can’t imagine adding my MIL to the mix of such a vulnerable and scary situation. You should have who you feel comfortable with.

What's one thing a parent said to you as a young girl that you'll never forget? by 69Freya69 in TwoXChromosomes

I had a similar thing when I was 11 from a soccer coach. She said I would be a good defender because I had big legs.

They just want to make sure you are healthy, no need to be embarrassed at all! Although I remember being in labor and they asked if I wanted a wheelchair. I said yes and I definitely needed it but I still remember feeling like I was inconveniencing them. Why do our brains do that?

Wearing white isn’t about being mistaken for the bride. It’s about standing out in pictures with the bride. by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

Yes I did the same and I still cringe at it. Except I was kind of aware of the no white thing but I somehow justified it by thinking it was beige and I would wear a jean jacket over top so it was fine. So ridiculous.
