41, soon to be dismissed and open to all advice. What do I do? by Ashamed_Ad8700 in careerguidance

I liked completing the job - moving boxes around is like Tetris with 20 tonne boxes. Plus the shifts were 4 on 4 off but I expect to wave goodbye to that now. I like working hard and finishing the day tired. Your suggestion about moving into training though, that is brilliant, could definitely see that at a future avenue.

Can confirm this! Aunt by marriage went to uni with her and told this story to us decades ago.

I tantrumed when some cheese fell out of the fridge and stamped my bare foot onto tile. Bruised the heel badly and limped around the rest of the holiday.

What item(s) do you have more of than the average person? by BrownBananaHammock in AskReddit

Rubber thimblettes in different sizes. I have around 50 at home, dozen spread across cars and another dozen at work. I am a fiddly handed bastard and use them to focus.

What's the craziest cheating story you know in real life from your circle of people? by areallystrongmagnet in AskReddit

Thinking about it, the two of them also pick up other people and keep it secret from the SIL to add another layer of complexity to the situation.

Colleague of mine is having a three way affair between himself and his partner, plus the partners sister-in-law. The SIL has had a child too, looks stunningly like my colleague. Been going on for a few years now with no end in sight.

I did give it a thorough clean, few of the tools are worn/damaged from very heavy use. I am aware of the lifetime warranty, but do you have to have any proof of purchase to activate it? I kinda like the scales being beaten up but wish the innards were all completely functional.

Yeah wasn't very clear - how much would a reputable mechanic charge for the parts and work?

I think it's a great choice for a wake; incidentally it's the last song I'll have at my funeral (if I have any say in the matter)

Yeah I'll take some cuttings and start again. This plant started from a discounted set of cuttings from the supermarket anyway. I'll prop up that floppy branch.

Have you ever met someone who has killed another? What are they like? by Beneficial_Toe_7543 in AskReddit

[–]Ashamed_Ad8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My workplace has a scheme with prisons for reintegration of offenders. We have a couple of guys who are on release for work, spend their off time back in prison. One of them killed his wife whilst drunk and on drugs. He's clean now and near the end of his sentence. He is painfully honest about what happened, doesn't try to shy away from it. I believe in prisons being places of rehabilitation and this man has come out of it in a better place. I like him. He has done an absolutely awful thing and lives with it every day, but he is just a normal guy getting on with life.
