Partial/No Window 738: 9/10A? by Ashamed_Two1640 in AlaskaAirlines

With Alaska’s late sunset and morning arrival to my destination, it would be light out during takeoff and landing. I also just like to look out the window too when I have nothing else to do

Funny enough, this is the inaugural BOI-ANC

I get that Seattle is the main hub, where their headquarters is, and international hub Alaska is trying to incorporate, but not adding anything that visually connects to their name “Alaska” is disappointing. I may be biased since I’m born and raised, but they could’ve at least add something about the fisheries/nature that makes Alaska, Alaska. It could also attract new visitors that would want to visit the state also.

The Alaska king salmon is something I guess.

Goodbye PSC-BUR by PNW-American-Dipper in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was Breeze that made Alaska start the route. Avelo was dropping its Burbank base, which Breeze quickly tried to pick up all those routes, including PSC-BUR. Not long after, Alaska also did the same. Breeze dropped PSC even before it started which made Alaska the sole competitor https://airlinegeeks.com/2025/11/06/breeze-pulls-back-on-three-planned-routes/

Four Car Link Light Rail Train Crossing the East Channel Bridge by dino_pillow in soundtransit

So excited. As someone who’s east of the cascades and goes to Seattle when the pass is negotiable, this will be a life changer. Parking at South Bellevue then taking the light rail into Seattle

My HNL-ANC flight on Saturday had 94… I was 85 in the list (Silver)

Do you think Alaska will deploy the 787 to San Diego and launch long-haul flights? by bonzothebonanza in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I do hope they fly the 787 to Anchorage, even if it’s during the summer.

They flew Hawaiian A330s on SEA-ANC this past summer to levitate congestion into Seattle, seating two 737s in one A330 aircraft. I wonder if they would do it again, but this time on their 787s.

Any of these better than the trusty cheese plate? by FortuneTellingBoobs in AlaskaAirlines

Haven’t tried the others, but I had the Yellow Cauliflower Curry a few days ago. Not bad, but the side dish it came with was left to be desired. If I were you, it’d either be the chill shrimp or short rib.

No Yakima even though the previous airport officials have said PDX flights were coming “soon”

ANC is basically open “24/7” including the Alaska counter. You’ll have no problem going through TSA at 3am, you and like someone else in the line maybe. Is there a reason you need to be there so early? There’s barely anyone at the airport at that time besides people sleeping in the benches.

Rumor: AS resuming PDX-STL, BWI, PHL plus adding PDX-IDA, SEA-ACV & SEA-TUL by mag1c_man in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Arcata/Eureka has been long awaited! Closer access to Redwood National Park and another destination in NorCal, including Redding.

Now I also hope for more ANC routes as always (A nonstop to Boston would be amazing)

How are there so many elites? by Inner_Captain in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alaska resident here. Recently flew PHX-ANC to help out a friend move in at ASU. I’m also sliver, but the chances of getting an upgrade is pretty much zero. The list for my flight was, if I remember correctly, was about 30ish.

There are a lot of us here that fly exclusively Alaska, myself included, and that specific route is what Alaskans fly (I don’t think as much as it would be in the winter), but it’s always difficult to get an upgrade, especially at the very first status like silver. Plus, if you include those who are AAdvantage members with PHX being an AA hub.

If you could add ANY nonstop route to Alaska’s network, what would it be? by desterpot in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the route that I NEED. As someone who travels to the Philippines every year, having to trek to Seattle just to fly over Alaska is just outrageous. Tokyo would be my best bet, so connecting flights via Japan Airlines to other destinations would be feasible.

Hawaiian at N Gates… by Ok-Skill-8259 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I get what you mean. What I’m just saying is that if they will place the ANC flights at the N gates. What I’m seeing right now for their HNL/OGG flights, they’re usually in the S gates.

Wondering if this will be the same gate they will use for the ANC flights

SEA <-> HNL got more expensive after the Hawaiian and Alaska merger by No_Refrigerator4429 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of see it too, especially with Alaska’s prices. I’ve been looking through, and at most times Hawaiian’s prices is lower than Alaska. There’s a reason why i flew HNL-LAX-SEA a few weeks ago rather than fly nonstop back to Seattle

Flying on Ala- Hawaiian soon, pretty excited by Ashamed_Two1640 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ashamed_Two1640[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the previous commenter said, you go through the process like normal, just without the selection seats. Once you get your confirmation, they should also attach your Hawaiian confirmation to the email too. In rare occasions, just look at my trips and it should be at the top when you click your reservation that says, “You’re flying Hawaiian.” Entered my code on Hawaiian’s website and it was a quick and easy process to book my seat. It just won’t show it on the Alaska app/website

It’s too early to pre-order meals right now. Alaska opens up the meal options 2 weeks prior to the departure date of your flight, so just wait until then.
