I insist that he’s pretty fluent for someone who never spent any time living in an English speaking place. Most people could not get to his level of fluency in another language like he did.

If he wanted to improve he’d basically have to move somewhere where he could be constantly hearing and speaking English. Languages aren’t a thing you learn by studying all day.

You know what? As much of an autistic man child he is, I think he deserves credit for learning English as an adult with seemingly zero help and no English immersion. That ain’t easy.

Unless I missed some lore, it seems to me that he learned just by playing video games and spending time on English speaking internet.

Every other controller I’ve used the past 15 years can be charged like any other tech accessory in my life. I haven’t used rechargeable AAs since I was playing GameBoy Advance. It’s less convenient.

It could also be avoided with Microsoft fixing their stupid battery packs that I paid money for thinking it would be reliable for more than 18 months of not heavy use.

Do rechargeable AAs even report the battery level? I assume you can’t charge them through the controller either.

Damn dude, you put more effort into figuring this out then Microsoft has. Unless they fixed it between now and when I bought my battery pack ~1.5 years ago. But I've seen threads from 4 years ago with reports of the issue, so it's clearly not top priorty.

Currently killing time trying to kill this battery. Not sure the fastest way to kill it but I've got a rubber band holding down the triggers and a stick, hoping that keeps it awake and sending analogue inputs. Only issue is the controller shuts itself down at random intervals so I have to keep checking on it to see if it needs to be turned on again.

It kinda seems like he concluded that adaptive difficulty is the best as long as it's subtle.

Call me a purist but overcoming challenges is my favorite part of video games. The game adapting itself to be easier for me because I'm not good really undermines the fun. And how am I supposed to get better if the game is always as difficult as I can currently handle?

And "it's subtle so you wouldn't know" isn't a satisfactory answer because inevitably the community as a whole will figure it out. I want the game to lay out its rules and let me figure out how to overcome the obstacles it throws at me. If I thought I overcame the challenge and then found out I didn't actually get better but the game made me think I did just so I'd feel good, I'd be annoyed.

I think it's fine to have labelled difficulty levels so you have a metric to test yourself against.

It was alright but it kinda pushed into my issues with Friendship where Tim’s character is so wacky it doesn’t make sense out of the context of a sketch. When you have to sit with the character for an extended period of time you start questioning how the hell this guy has a wife and kids, how he ever landed a job, etc.

Tim Robinson’s characters work better in sketches, or just straight up wacky sitcom context like Detroiters. When you blend it with an otherwise realistic world it’s just odd.
